We haven't had a thread like this in a long time. It's always good to be reminded what is out there on the Fruited Plain, that rarely makes an appearance here. God bless "unnatural sin." I haven't heard that term before, so thanks for that bon mot at least.

Have whatever view you want about gay marriage being "unnatural." The problem is when your view becomes a law that restricts the rights of others.

What about my rights? Got to love when they come in sue a marriage chapel in Iowa shut it down. "how loving" Got to love when Kim Davis was put in jail "How loving". What about that "hateful" Obama since he opposed it tell 2012. Please don't lecture me about "rights and tolerance "

No one has ever shut down a privately-owned chapel for refusing to perform gay marriages, and that isn't why Kim Davis went to jail.

You're really thick, ya know. The article specifically says they are opening up a church right there. It ain't a religious marriage if it ain't done in a religious venue, so that's good news

Truly a moderate in touch with today's youth!
Since when does Objective truth have anything to do with popular opinion?

The problem is that Rubio is viewed as an electable moderate for holding these worldviews held by a fringe of the population, and Trump is lambasted as a crazy nutjob for saying what almost everyone in America is thinking.
You missed my point. The fact is their is no such thing as "same sex marriage" because it goes against natural law. Regardless if everyone on the planet says otherwise does not change that. That's want I mean by objective truth what people  think does not matter.

I've never met anyone has cited "Natural Law" who wasn't a complete choad. I wonder if you'll be different.....
How nice of you to mention that. You don't think Natural Law is real? Do you believe in absolute truth?

Oh, i believe in absolutev values of good and evil, right and wrong, and the right to hold different opinions doesn't equate the right to hold different facts.

However , i'm quite leery of many persons' ability to accurately identify those truths, especially those people who activelyharp on "natural Law" to justify their worldview . as noted, they tend to be awful

Apart from your apparent misinterpretation of events, no one is forcing you to "love" gay marriage. You can find it as unnatural as you want. You have every right to refuse to marry someone of the same sex as you. You'll never be forced to attend a gay wedding. The existence of gay marriage in no way compromises your rights.

The Tea Party has not been defeated, but merely absorbed into the Republican mainstream. People considered right wing Tea Party nuts as recently as 2010 like Rubio, are now moderates.
And you claim to be the "tolerate and loving left" yet anyone who challenges your viewpoint, they cry and scream for a safe space and then sue and try to ruin the person for voicing a point of view.

Saying "you're wrong and i disagree" is hardly the same level of "intolerance" as "the loving relationship you share with your soulmate should be legally banned because the church i attend considers it an unnatural sin.

Nope, apparently not.

God are we still doing "LIBERULS CLAIM TO BE TOLERANT, BUT DON'T TOLERATE MY INTOLERANT VIEWS! HYPOCRITES?!?!?" thing?

That's because the media label "moderate" is often applied not based on actual ideological beliefs but instead on the appearance of being sane.

This isn't going to happen and if it did it would backfire. It would be something of a gut check for orthodox Christians who pay attention though. I don't look forward to it.

The reason why the natural law argument is ignored by most people is that most people don't believe we have natures or where natural law comes from. So why would we expect them to understand or accept the argument?

Says something that Trump, as vile as he is, has never had the indecency to go after the gays.

Trump tried to go after the gays at one point by attempting to make a metaphor about golf putters. It didn't work.
