Most national polls show Trump's GOP numbers in the upper 20s, with the his strongest showings in the mid 30s. This doesn't feel right to me. Granted the internet isn't always the best indication of actual support, but it seems Trump's support is much stronger. I just can't believe 65% to 75% of the GOP isn't behind Trump.

His downfall is bound to begin very soon if not now. His most recent comments about shutting down the internet and banning Muslim travel are too far for even many of his supporters.

He's not at 65%, but I do think his numbers will go up due to his recent comments.

The average Trump supporter would go even more extreme, so they aren't going to abandon him. As PPP's NC poll showed, a plurality of Trump supporters favor banning islam. When Trump inevitably goes through the floor of the deep end, his supporters will continue to cheer him.

Reminds me of my liberal friends who are SURE that Bernie is winning because they don't know anyone planning on voting for Hillary.

But seriously, doesn't it feel more like Trump is at 67% rather than 27%?

Based on what?  "The internet"?  You do realize that the GOP is dominated by olds and the internet is dominated by teenagers?  (slight exaggeration)

I really can't wait for the "I Told You So" and "I called it" responses. Literally going to be worse than the Austrian bloggers.

Considering there are twenty-eight other candidates in the field, TRUMP is doing very well.

ShadowoftheWave.

Can you please explain to me why the methodology of the polls we are seeing is totally wrong?

or

Can you please explain to me why 30-40% of poll respondents are lying to pollsters about who they really support?

You misunderstand me, I'm not saying the polls are wrong. I'm just saying considering the strength of the Trump phenomenon his polling should be at least 55%.

They seem absurdly high to me. I have yet to meet an actual Trump supporter on- or offline who isn't a troll or being ironic.

The polls are wrong because they don't represent how I FEEL.

I'm not saying I think the polls are wrong, I'm just saying it feels like Trump's support should be higher considering the strength of it online and his dominance in the media. What don't you get?

He started his campaign by calling Mexicans rapists. Then he proceded to say McCain isn't a war hero because he was captured. Then he gave out Lindsey Graham's phone number...

The list goes on with all these things that should've ended his campaign. But it doesn't. Because the GOP has been trained to love this kind of sh**t. And they do. It's just Frankenstein has broken free. And the Doctor is truly angry about what his invention represents.

I know a handful of Trump supporters, but honestly, they aren't likely voters. Atleast not in a primary election.

This. Casual political observers like those who support Trump and Sanders watch the debates, they pick their favorites, they form stances and make their opinions heard clearly. But when you ask them how their state primary or caucus works, or how to vote in one, or WHEN the election actually is, they generally won't know.
