I think Jindal, Trump, Cruz, Fiorina, Clinton, and Sanders are all probably pretty smart, though in different ways.  The rest of the pack is pretty tight.  Walker was probably the dumbest in terms of lack of intellectual prowess.  Kasich and Paul are probably the worst in terms of emotional/interpersonal intelligence.

Jindal and Cruz are by far the most intelligent, and it's not even close. Carson comes in a very far third. Clinton and Sanders are also up there.

1. Carson
2. Jindal
3. Paul
4. Cruz

Fill in the rest behind them, though if I had to guess, Sanders and Trump would be near the bottom.

vocabulary is a pretty poor measure - Scott Walker's vocabulary was a lot better than Trumps but Walker was obvious 100x more dumb. Similarly Bobby Jindal and Rick Perry sound similar, but you can pretty easily guess which one was a Rhodes Scholar and which one went to boring state college.

Fwiw some ofvthe most 'intelligent' presidents were disasters in office, so this metric is kinda silly.

Walker and Chafee were clearly the dimmest bulbs running though. Cruz, Trump, Clinton and Jindal are pretty smart.

People often mistake people's marketing of themselves for the real deal. Similar to how many liberals spent the Dubya years going "LMAO BUSH SOOO DUMB LOL" without realising that he was playing up that whole "lovable goofball" act as a way to play to anti-elitist attitudes.

I urge people to recognise that just because you disagree with somebody, it doesn't mean they are stupid.

Anybody who thinks that this kind of hairdo looks good has to be pretty dumb.
Also, look at his vocabulary, as has been posted before

What do you expect when he's catering to one of the dumbest parts of the electorate?
