Which Republican non-candidates should have run? The current weakness of the establishment candidates made me ask this, but feel free to include other candidates as well.

All of them, then put them in the Reagandome for they will fight to the death! 39 candidates enter, one nominee leaves!

I'd say that Romney, Haley, Huntsman, Sandoval and Rice should all have run, and perhaps Portman too. With all of these six politicians running though, you might have had to add a third tier debate at the first and perhaps second debates as well lol.

I bet Willard is kicking himself over not entering after last night.

Agreed, though: I wonder if Trump would have been as harsh on Romney's business record as he's been to Fiorina's? I'm inclined to say yes, at least to a high degree. Though he'd have a lot more ammunition to use against him, including the 47% and of course Romneycare.

Why should anyone have inflicted themselves by joining this army of clowns?

I would say Sandoval but he would probably poll worse than Kaisch or Christie if he entered.

Mark Cuban is the only person of this list who should've run.

NONE....there are too many candidates.

After last night all but Rubio, Cruz, Trump and Carson should drop out.

Given his recent election as Speaker, I wonder if Paul Ryan would have made a good candidate. Though he (imo) lacks charisma, he seems to have a knack for uniting the establishment and the movement conservatives.

I also wish Bill Haslam had run, though I guess Kasich takes the role of reasonable, establishment governor.

Huntsman instead of Kasich would be my personal preference.

Without question, Mitt Romney. He would topple Bush and Rubio, and give Trump and Carson a run for their money.

Romney would have done alright, but would probably only be where Rubio is now.
Herman Cain should have entered so we could get more Pokemon quotes in politics.

A third Romney run would've only be equivalent to bringing him out of retirement for one last shot at embarrassment. Sarah Palin is the only candidate on here who would've actually played well and gotten significant support in the 2016 environment.

At least Sarah knows how to smile, unlike Fiorina who only smiles when her advicers tell her to, or else she'll be toast (lol). It was hilarious when she said that she had to smile now, cause she had been told that she didn't smile enough during the previous debate. Tongue

If Rice had ran instead of Kasich, Christie, and Bush, she'd be crushing everyone. Rice-Christie, Rice-Kasich, or Rice-Rubio ticket would all be pretty strong.

Isn't Rice pro-choice?

Likewise I can't see Mitt doing as well as everyone says, sure he'd be at 10% but it would be easy for Trump/Carson/Rubio to cast him like Jeb saying he's part of the past

and he'd get exactly 61 million votes again.
