Think about it. If Koster wins the MO Governorship in 2016, wins re-election in 2020, runs for president in 2024. Moderate Democrat in a red-leaning state, Missouri, can appeal to Southern and Midwestern voters. A good choice?

Missouri is one of the best states in the country in terms of history. Both parties have neglected the state, they have not put a Missourian on the ticket in decades. It's shameful. I think Koster can be the one that can keep the Democratic Party alive in the 2020's.

Maybe, who knows? That's an eternity away politically.

He's the anti Nixon and certainly the heir apparent to Claire McCaskill. We haven't had a Prez from MO since Truman. So it will be a good thing.

A two-term Missouri governor would have been a lot stronger in the 1992 Democratic primaries. It's tough to see someone getting elected statewide in Missouri twice and then successfully running for a national Democratic nomination.

MO isnt GOP like it was during Blunt yrs of 2004. Kander is exceedingly doing well in polls.

I like Kander & Koster chances

I would like to see Koster run in the future. He'd appeal to Independent voters. Hopefully, he does not have any baggage like Jay Nixon, and is seen as a future star if he does win this November. A future Gov. Koster could potentially be a good VP for a progressive who needs moderates in the Heartland.

You questioning someone's obsession with a state is pretty funny, all due respect.

He needs a better hairdresser first. I advise him to contact the Trump campaign there.

Koster is a possibility, but Eric Greitens is far more intriguing.

If Jason Kander gets elected to Senate this year, he has a bright future in national politics.

Koster....doubtful he'd be able to appease the left flank of the party.

Koster has the advantage of not having to run in a midterm.

True...if he did run in a 2018 or 2022, he may lose very badly unless he runs a good message.

He'd have to be an impressive (at least as far as the base is concerned) Governor to have a shot, especially since Democrats are pushing for more diverse tickets.

He might end up a running mate to Kamala Harris or Julian Castro, although Democrats have almost always picked Senators.

Koster has to win the gubernatorial election first.
