absolutely -as long as tobacco is legal, i see no reason why marijuana should be treated any differently.

Mary Jane actually does inhibit many of your reflexes, much like alcohol. I say legalize it and regulate it the same way alcohol is regulated.

YES! I've been preaching that for ages!
Except of course alcohol is overregulated in the U.S. ...

Oh, btw, Philip, since you didn't include text to say "Leftist independents please vote Dem", I voted that I am NewFederalist.

Amen!  Marijuana should be legalized, obviously, but we should also eliminate such things as the nonsensical drinking age, and most of all bar closing times.  I'm philosophically against the driving-while-intoxicated laws, but I suppose they would be tolerable if the police couldn't pull you over without cause, as appears to be the case currently.  One actually sees DWI checkpoints in the US.  What a police state!

I don't even drink when in the US, I just find the police being allowed to pull people over pretty much at will terribly disturbing and dangerous.

Eliminate the Drinking Age? What, I pray thee, will be the point in getting drunk for the first time in your life, at some party, when you're 13 year old, if what you're doing is legal?
Drastically lower the Drinking Age (to 16), but don't scrap it.

HELL YES!!!! Why are alcohol and tobacco legal when this isn't. Regulate it just like alcohol (no driving, ect.) and with some of the present smoking policies to avoid second-hand smoke (no smoke in public places).

Oh....and tax it heavily

No F-ing option, eh? How's this... I prefer the term "decriminalize" to "legalize". I believe the former gets the job done while the latter implies some sort of sanction. Either way, it is insane to load up our prison system with marijuana users and let rapists, pediophiles and other violent criminals out early to "make room".

I say yes. Slap a massive tax (200% sounds nice) on it and regulate the hell out of it.

Yeah. That won't create any black markets.

And why regulate it, as long as they comply with the Pure Food and Drug Act?

Well taxing it after it was legalized would still mean reduced prices.

Well, you said regulate the hell out of it. Obviously I understand labeling restrictions, which is all the Pure Food and Drug Act does (to my knowledge).

Well taxing it after it was legalized would still mean reduced prices.

How low do you think prices would be?

Libertarian (you didn't give me a f-ing option either)   Yes

agree with both.  There's really no reason why it shouldn't be legal.  The War on Drugs is a big government program that wastes too much money.  I'd list other reasons, but I'm tired.
