She is standing up for her rights. She has backbone. Period. She should have followed the laws, but she is standing up for her rights.

She's an HP, but she doesn't deserve jail.

Yes she does; she broke the law.

She's an HP, but she doesn't deserve jail.

She is an elected official who is refusing to do her duty as required by the law. Dereliction of duty is grounds for jail time, period. She isn't in jail because of her beliefs.

Excuse me, she shouldn't deserve jail. Imprisonment should only be used for those who are a physical threat to society, and Kim Davis is simply not one. Of course, she should be fired, but that's a different story.

Yeah, I'm not sure if she really "deserves" jail, but it's the appropriate response in this case.

The "firing" could only come through impeachment by the KY legislature, which is not currently in session.

The Court could, perhaps, order her not to go to work or perform any official duties of her position until the matter was resolved at a later date, but they couldn't "suspend" her without pay.

Huckabee is planning to visit her in jail:

Has there been any approval poll among Pubs as to their opinion of Kim Davis's actions?

Or maybe not.  Looks like she's being released:

Though maybe the meeting with Huckabee already took place?  I saw this on Twitter:

They are nutjobs if they support Kim Davis. The usual cast of characters, Cruz and Huckabee are supporting her so no big surprise there.

I respect that she's willing to go to jail for her beliefs, but from a Christian perspective, I'd have to think that a "render unto Caesar" paradigm applies to civil marriage. These "Christian conservatives" supporting her feel unseemly and overly opportunistic to me.

Mike Huckabee is a blowhard and wants to believe this country is a theocracy.

Kim Davis will probably be going back to jail if she interferes with deputy clerks issuing SSM licenses. I guess Judge Bunning is willing now to risk the ping pong ball syndrome. Perhaps he hopes in a small county such as Rowan, there are no more SS couples who want a marriage license in the county anytime soon. Davis plans to appeal. Not that when she summarily loses that as a frivolous filing, it will deter her from defying the law or anything. I wonder when her term is up. That might be final denouement. I doubt she can get reelected.
