There has been recent speculation on a Franks-nelson race. Franks is, of course, not a Floridian- I think the logic is that CENTCOM was in Tampa for most of Franks's tenure. And Nelson is consistently tougher than the Florida GOP expect. Given all this, what would such a race look like? Could Franks be positioning himself for higher office? (I know he talked about going back home when he left the military and he looks pretty elderly, but he's been wearing a certain kind of suit and wathcing his speech on recent interviews. Plus his speech at the 2004 RNC).
