Roy Cooper (D): 42%
Pat McCrory (R, inc.): 39%

Only 35% of voters approving of the job he's doing to 48% who disapprove.

Republican primary:

McCrory: 60%
Dan Forest: 20%

General election with Forest as the Republican candidate:

Cooper (D): 42%
Forest (R): 33%

McCrory leads Spaulding (dem underdog) only 40-35. A lot narrower than usual.

I say Cooper has this race in the bag, provided that he doesn't lose any ground and the GOP doesn't have a 2014-esque landslide year.
