According to Josh Earnest, the White House Press Secretary, Obama is not ruling out a primary endorsement. would he actually do it, and if his endorsement is of a non-Hillary candidate(most likely Biden if he runs) how would it change the race.

He's not going to endorse anyone if Hillary and Biden are both running. Maybe Hillary if she needs a push against Sanders but even that feels less likely than waiting until it's basically decided.

If Biden comes in, he will more likely endorse Biden. If its just Clinton and Sanders as the two main candidates, he'll endorse Hillary.

He probably won't endorse anyone until December or January the earliest.

He has loyalty for Biden, but he also seemed quite enthusiastic for Hillary in those joint-interviews too. He'll probably wait and see.

An Obama endorsement of Christie would certainly be a game changer...

Actually, it probably wouldn't.  Obama's endorsement is the kiss of death in the GOP primary, and nothing even Obama can say or do will get Christie polling ahead of Chafee in the Democratic primary.

Obama cares about the party and his legacy. I suspect he would only step into the primary if he felt that they were in danger and he needed to push things along to a quick conclusion.

Namely in the event of a near tie between Sanders, Clinton, and Biden (if he runs).

I highly doubt he'll endorse anyone until the primary is over.

In the end, I don't think Obama would endorse in the primary. He knows a Clinton - Bien race could get ugly, and I think he would feel comfortable with either of them being his successor. However, if Joe Biden decides not to run and Clinton seems to be in danger of losing the primary to Sanders, I could see Obama endorsing Clinton. So we'll see, but if Biden and Clinton are in the race, I think he stays neutral and sees how it plays out.

Are you one of those hacks who thinks touching a democrat makes a republican a RINO?

No. But I do think expanding corporate welfare like Obama, expanding medicaid under Obamacare, appointing liberal judges, presiding over 9 credit downgrades because of a failure to control spending, and failing to cut taxes as promised is like Obama.

Christie is in fact a RINO though

Yup. Took me over four years to realize it.

Oh look, its the members of the party that think they have the power to decide who's a Republican and who's not!

Besides, if you think a single hug from Christie to Obama got Obama re-elected you might be are an idiot...though I guess at the end of the day it really doesn't matter because Chris Christie has as much chance as being our next president that Rand Paul or even Jeb! Bush at this point do.

As for the topic, I doubt that Obama endorses during the primary season.
