The only time I can tolerate coffee is when it's filled with so much sugar and flavoring that it doesn't even taste like coffee anymore.

Plain black. I actually like the taste of coffee, and since I've cut way back on it in recent years I tend to drink fresh coffee that I get from a local roaster. There are a lot of good regional coffees out there that have a lot of flavor.

Once in a while, though, I'll have a soy or almond milk latte, and they're good.

Tea I have to put just a bit of sugar in, though.

I prefer it with a lot of milk and some sugar. Real milk, not the horrible milk-like powder they have in supermarkets.

I have always heard that too.  I can tell you that I drink about half a pot of fairly strong coffee every day, no milk, no sugar, and I've been drinking coffee since the spring of '67--yes, my mama put coffee in my baby bottle--and I've yet to have an ulcer.  I also take an 81-mg aspirin every day, and I've heard that this also gives ulcers.  I've also heard that drinking too much alcohol gives you ulcers, and I can assure you that no day passes me without being met by copious quantities of alcohol.  No ulcers.
