See, sh*t like this is why Europe should aggressive attempt to resettle refugees from Turkey and Jordan, so that they aren't forced to literally go through the tundra to receive asylum.

Why should only we do that ?

It was the US that stirred up the hornets nests in AfPak, Iraq, Syria and Libya

To begin with, I take grave exception to this calculated racist bullshoot statement.

There is nothing wrong with that statement Did Austria sell weapons to Syrian terrorists? Did their government spearhead the Libyan Blitz? Are they the ones who send drones to kill children in Pakistan and Afghanistan. No, of course not - that is the United States. Austria should not be held responsible for all the imperialist crap the United States pulls.

US pressured to take 65,000 refugees

Seems a bit low in the grand scheme of things though.

In the past they would have used another symbol for those purposes.

They could still be the same people - Jews afraid of the refugees or Neo-Nazis trying to frame the Jews?

Recently the asylum seekers in Oulu, Northern Finland, organised a protest where they demanded better food at their accomodation. The protest was led by an Iraqi man who said that the food (the same food eaten by Finnish school children) they were given was suited only for dog-food. This man, as we find out, was a Lieutenant in the Iraqi Army before he left for Europe. What hope does Iraq have of defeating ISIS when even their officers are deserting in order to go to Europe? (Furthermore, what kind of gourmet dinners are they serving in the Iraqi Army?)

I can't see how any country could consider desertion as valid reason for granting asylum. If such a decision were made, how could any country punish its own deserters after that?

There are similar situations worth consideration - officers from southern Viet Nam  would have faced Red Terror if they stayed too long. This man's situation (and attitude) seems ridiculous though.

But this is exactly the stuff I tried to warn you about. This silly, reckless mass immigration policy "stresses" the native population unnecessarily and makes them agitated.

Cry me a river. Clearly racist first-worlders are the people we should sympathize with.

Those damn racists need to have their votes drowned out!

Greek authorities just confirmed that one of the people who likely perpetrated the Paris attacks crossed through Greece as a refugee on October 3, and was a Syrian passport holder.

Say it loud, say it clear...

I want to believe that a stricter screening process might prevent terror attacks like this in the future but given the sheer numbers and nations of origin, this seems unrealistic.

To play lawyer, the Indochinese Refugee Crisis was also of a different cultural context; many of the boat people were upper-middle class anti-Communist refugees - many were also ethnic or religious minorities in their home country and had prior political/economic connections to the the US or France. This would have provided some non-insignificant cultural capital and an easier intergration process. I'd imagine that the current wave of refugees are of Sunni-Arab background and the process is... different.

The Dalai Lama raised some eyebrows by saying Europe was being too generous with refugees.
