Deism, but since there was no such option in the poll, I went with secular humanism, which, to be fair, is basically the philosophy that guides my views when it comes to the role of religion in society, morality and superstition.

I went to Catholic through most of college but have started going to a Methodist church again. I'm not set on one denomination so it is hard to categorize myself, but I certainly identify as a Christian.

You backed off the Mormonism?

Yep, towards the end of college. Love the people and that is what got me involved, but just too many differences.

Are there any options missing that should be included, particularly the Christian subdivisions?

It might be worth making a distinction between Eastern Orthodox and Oriental Orthodox.

Christian Science.
I would add Anabapist to my list even though it is Christian and I'm not.

Why? It's a rapidly dying sect and I can't imagine that our young-skewing membership includes any, and may not even include anyone who has even visited a reading room.

The length of this list really drives home the absurdity of adhering to any random religion on it.

I've been told lately (on Facebook, anyway) that I would qualify as a nondenominational Catholic.  Take that as you will, but I already identify as an Anglo-Catholic.  We're a minority in TEC since most of the Anglo-Catholics have gone to the ACNA now, but joining the ACNA for me is about as likely as converting to Roman Catholicism.

"Diversity of thought makes thinking pointless" is the quintessence of liberalism today.

Might as well change my answer to de facto atheism, since I unterstood my belief in deism was more of a feel-good safe retreat. Secular humanism is still the main philosophy that drives my behaviour and worldview though.

People generally don't pick their religion at random, unless you consider parental influence random because you believe souls are randomly paired with fetuses in the womb.

I'm not going to be lectured by somebody who supports abortion & gay marriage.

Hmm. How would you know that if you've only been here five minutes....

So what you're saying, unless you want to give the actual answer, is that you're the sort of Catholic who probably ignores Church teaching on everything but those two issues but thinks that makes you a good Catholic.
