I feel if Hillary had her own "47%" type of scandal where she rails working class whites or something like that, Trump could ride a wave of populist anger into the white house. What do you think?

Hillary would have to stab someone on live television.

Sanders/Ellison, a Jew and a Muslim, against Trump and Winfrey. I don't think many places would elect Ellison Vice President

Hillary is indicted sometime between the Democratic Convention and the election. Even Trump wouldn't lose to a politician running for president under felony indictment.

Presuming he 1) actually gets the nomination, and 2) avoids any massively (greater than his McCain or Kelly comments) self-destructive comments, I think it's quite possible, but not probable.

The Dems could simply run an abysmally terrible campaign, either because something happens to prevent a clear nominee from emerging, or they just suffer an organizational failure somewhere along the line. If the Dem's nominee runs a chaotic, disorganized and incoherent campaign, while the RNC backs Trump, I think he could eke out a win.

More likely, there's a massive disaster that makes the Democrats look bad and pushes the public in favor of any major change: an economic crash worse than that leading up to 2008, a worse than 9/11 domestic terror attack, or a massive foreign policy disaster with an impact back home.

If Hillary was indicted could she be replaced by the party the same way the VP candidate Eagleton was replaced in 1976?  She could also promise to resign immediately and let VP Kaine become president.

Hillary would have to be caught with a dead boy or live girl after it was too late to drop out but before early voters swamped Trump.

A massive terrorist attack/natural disaster at perpetuated by the DNC.

That might be the only way Trump wins.

Bernie would win. Probably 50-60% of people supporting Bush, Paul, Rubio, Kasich, Pataki, Graham, and Christie would either vote third party, vote Democrat, or stay home. Probably the same for 30-40% of those supporting Huckabee, Santorum, and Walker as well.
