I was looking through an old thread titled "Best Running Mate for Mitt" (this thread was made when Mitt was speculating a 2016 run). On that thread, Vega suggested that Mitt should pick Neel Kashkari as his running mate if he won the 2016 nomination.

I feel like Romney has no choice but to pull a hail mary, considering it will be his second run in the GE.

Probably Rubio or Neel Kashkari.

How would Jeb Bush/Neel Kashkari perform against Hillary Clinton/(insert random Democratic politician here)?

Discuss with maps.

This thread is only somewhat serious.

How about John Kasich / Neel Kashkari? A banker who destroyed the global economy and the guy who bailed the bankers out. Truly a ticket that will excite the average American.

I think Kashkari would work well with Jeb or Kasich. He really did fit with a third-run Romney, though.

I would like to propose Fiorina/Kashkari. It's not like CA will vote for them anyway, so it doesn't matter that they're both from there.

Seriously though, Kashkari would be a pretty awful pick. He didn't even win any counties in the primary (Jerry Brown won 56 and Tim Donnelly, a tea partier, won 2).

That would work too, though I think a woman and a minority would be too much for the Republicans.

Fiorina lives in Virgina (and appears to be running from there), so that wouldn't be a problem (it's constitutionally banned).

Neel Kashari was also a banker at Goldman Sachs for a couple of years.

Ok. I didn't realize that she had moved. That definitely wouldn't be a problem. As far as I can tell, it would only be a problem for California.

Kashkari deserves to have held higher office... but hasn't, so no.
