An isolationist, conservative Democrat in rural eastern Oklahoma would be a good guess.

Even though he's anti-war, he voted Hillary because he disliked Obama more.

West Virginia Democrat who became a Republican after 08 due to being pro-coal. Supported Ron Paul thinking that his hands off approach to the environment would help revitalize the coal industry and manufacturing in general and liked that Trump was a businessman.

Nationalist, poor southerner from a long line of Democratic politics in the family. Voted Edwards in 2004 because he liked his Southern populism. Voted Hillary in 2008 because he didn't want Obama to win the primary, let along the general. In 2012, his hatred for Obama translated into GOP support. He believes in isolationism and so supported Paul. Over time, his vitriol towards foreigners has grown, hence the Trump support.

Someone who only votes in the primaries of the party that is not in office, apparently.

Sure.

Open primary state. One voter f’n' around—for the hell of it. Harmless fun.

Southerner, small-government, generally cynical, not happy with either party, yet not unhappy enough to vote against them. Maybe racist, at least a tad.

Voted Edwards in 2004 due to his southern-ness (open primary state--didn't make sense to vote Republican), voted Hillary in 2008 to keep Obama out (by that point McCain had already tied up the GOP field), grew increasingly bitter with the government, and although not an ideological libertarian, voted for Paul as he was furthest from the establishment in 2012, and plans to vote for Trump due to the same reasons.

I don't know about Edwards '04 or Paul '12, but the operator of the Hillaryis44 website is backing Trump.
