The one thing that has made me regret more than anything else the creation of this process by which citizens can directly introduce legislation is that, it is has bred this arrogant disposition to those citizens about participating in the debate. It seems counter-intuitive, since no one pays much attention to that damn thread, it has the effect of silencing or rendering irrelevant their input.

Back when Senators used to introduce bills for constituents and then the constituents were invited to participate in advocacy for such, no one demanded they shut up and go away. I had hoped that this ridiculous nonsense was dead and buried back in March.

You can hop down from the high-horse, I'm usually reading this on a phone and I prefer the threads to be less cluttered. Why does everything need to be such an existential drama? It was put to bed when it wasn't being used as political tactic.

This is one element of this place I won't miss, at all.

That said, I will vote Aye. I share Cris's concerns and I highly doubt my vote will be aye when we're done, but an improvement is an improvement.

Its not like he was spamming the thread or something, he was advocating for the bill he wrote, and responding to questions about said bill. That is hardly what I would call "clutter" and this Senate hardly suffers from too much interaction.

I was willing to give it a chance last winter, but clearly it has not brought the Senate closer to the people, but has actually created more distance.
