Center-right independent who initially supported Bush. They grew disillusioned with Bush and the Republicans during his second term, and voted for Obama in 2008 as a protest. The Tea Party movement swung them to the right in 2010, and they ultimately voted for Goode as the "true" conservative over Romney in 2012. Since then, they've drifted back to the center. Voting for Sanders in the 2016 primaries with the hopes of pulling Hillary to the left, making it easier for a Republican to win the election.
