Cooch leads the GOP primary 37% to Cantor's 16%, 8% for Gillespie and Bolling, 7% for Obenshain, 1% for Snyder. Herring leads Northam 33-9 in the Dem primary. Herring ties or trails all Pubs.

While Cuccinelli came close last time, would the RGA similarly ensure his defeat if he ran again?

Cuccinelli is the only candidate with any name recognition, which explains a lot of his large primary polling lead.  The head to heads are pretty much useless since no one knows who these guys are.

GOP will probably stay with the convention rather than do a primary, so it's Cooch's if he wants it anyway.

The presidential race polling was released yesterday. The only stuff happening this year is legislature elections, which PPP doesn’t poll.

Nah, he has too much ambition to never run for anything again. His old house seat is out of the question unless Brat drops dead or something, so he'll go for something statewide in 2017, or challenge Kaine in 2018.

And you know this all, how?

Anyway, I highly doubt Cantor runs. Not sure about Cuccinelli, but he does have some loyal support.

Why is Herring leading Northam by so much? Seems like they have similar name rec and levels of popularity in the state.

Herring announced his reelection campaign, so Cuccinelli doesn't have to worry about him.

As for Northam, he's another McAuliffe. All he did to beat E.W. Jackson was launch ads spreading rumors about him. So if Cuccinelli learned from his mistakes in 2013 he should win. That is if some no name doesn't become the Cuccinelli to Northam's Bill Bolling.

That's not exactly (at all) true. Jackson was a lunatic. Northam didn't really run a negative campaign--god knows he could've slaughtered Jackson by a lot more if he had run more ads in NOVA explaining Jackson's views that put him to the right of the lunatic fringe itself.

I never said that Jackson wasn't. I was trying to say that Northam was greatly exaggerating his ideals.

No he wasn't, EW Jackson did a good enough job of it. Northam is not a negative campaigner, ya uneducated twat.
