It's a good get for Cruz, but local officials in the suburbs, many of the same ones who endorsed Romney over Santorum and Gingrich 4 years ago, are lining up for Trump. I expect Trump to break 50% tomorrow.

Because those local endorsements were great for Romney, right??? Or wait a moment....

Mississippi Republican primary, 2012[6][7]
Candidate   Votes    Percentage
Rick Santorum   96,258   32.73%
Newt Gingrich   91,612   31.15%
Mitt Romney   90,161   30.66%
Ron Paul           12,955    4.40%

Truly a resounding victory!

Have you seen any Cruz ads on TV in Mississippi?  He apparently bought a bunch of 1:00 ads today and tomorrow.  What is the ad about?

If Cruz pulls off an upset victory here and also wins Idaho as expected, he'll probably take Hawaii as well because Hawaiians will have seen the results before they caucus.  There's a decent chance Cruz comes out with 3/4 states tomorrow.

Unlike Louisiana, there's no early voting.  Plus, voters must have registered by February 6

Hawaiian State Sen. Sam Slom endorses Cruz.  He is Hawaii's only Republican senator.  Should tilt the race toward Cruz
Am I the only one who is mystified at there being only one Republican state senator in Hawaii?

Hawaii Democrats have largely co-opted the Republicans, especially on social issues.

Let's dispel with this fiction that this divide is entirely due to ideology.

Ted Cruz gets major endorsement from MS Governor Phil Bryant who also went on Hannity with the senator. My relatives from there say this will help him. He won with about 67% of the vote in 2014. Is this a major victory for Cruz and will it affect the primary?

Nah. Rubio got Bob Dole's endorsement and lost Kansas HUGE.

Pretty much this.

Regardless, I doubt this helps Cruz much considering Firorina was a non-factor in the race beyond a few weeks in september
