New Quinnipiac Poll (April 28 - May 2, 1,191, ± 2.8 percentage points):

Clinton easily defeats a number of possible Republican challengers:

    * 60 - 32 percent over Gov. George Pataki;
    * 62 - 27 percent over Westchester District Attorney Jeanine Pirro;
    * 63 - 26 percent over former Massachusetts Gov. William Weld;
    * 63 - 25 percent over Edward Cox, son-in-law of the late President Richard Nixon.

New York State voters say 67 - 27 percent that Sen. Clinton deserves to be reelected.

Wow, she hits 60% even against Pataki. That's pretty damn safe.

Wonder why they did'nt poll against Rudy.  I blieve she can beat him, but she would not break 55%, IMO.

This is quite a bit of a difference between Weld's showing in this poll and another recent one...interesting.

Wasn't that poll Spitzer v. Weld?

I'd love to see Weld run for something, he's a cool guy...I wanted him to run for Senate up in MA before I learned he wasn't in MA anymore.  Weld wouldn't have much of a chace against Clinton, though, as nobody would except Giuliani (who probably would lose by a decent margin at this point anyway) and Weld's name recognition is about 0 in new york.
