From the actual, non-dream spectrum of candidates:

1) Hillary Clinton
2) Bernie Sanders
3) Martin O'Malley
4) Rand Paul
5) Jim Webb

I generally favor electability and pragmatism over ideological purity. I agree with O'Malley/Sanders more than Hillary idealogically, but Sanders is a non-serious gadfly and O'Malley is an incompetent nothing-master. And yes, I would actually prefer a Republican over Jim Webb.

1. Walker
2. Rubio
3. Hillary

Walker or Rubio in the primary.  Walker now but could change to Rubio.  Been really impressed with Walker so far.  He's oozing with confidence.

I'll go with Hillary in the general if Walker or Rubio don't win the GOP nomination.

It's still a bit far out, and this will probably be refined with research and vetting, but here goes:

1. Gary Johnson
2. Justin Amash (not running, but I won't let that stop me)
3. Rand Paul
4. Bernie Sanders
5. Jill Stein
6. Anyone not named "Clinton" or "Bush." I'd vote for a cardboard box over another one of them.

How about a current look at the results?

First preferences:

Rand Paul - 8
Hillary Clinton - 8
Bernie Sanders - 4
John Kasich - 2
Scott Walker - 2
14 others - 1

With 38 ballots, 20 would be a majority. No one has 20 after that. I'll eliminate some of those "14 others." The tiebreaker I've set is number of second preferences. Al Gore, Joe Biden, Marco Rubio, and Russ Feingold all have at least 1 second-preference (Rubio stands ahead with 3), so everyone else with a first-choice is out (including Gary Johnson). I'll transfer those 10 votes to the top lower choice still in the race, and for two of them that isn't possible.

Round 2:

Rand Paul - 10 (he gets the ballots for Gary Johnson and Mike Huckabee--an interesting duo)
Hillary Clinton - 8
Bernie Sanders - 5 (the ballot for Jill Stein)
John Kasich - 4 (the ballots for Webb and Jeb)
Marco Rubio - 3 (the ballots for Sandoval and Carson)
Scott Walker - 2
Al Gore - 2 (the ballot for Wyden)
None of these Candidates - 2 (the ballots for Sawant and Jones)
Joe Biden - 1
Russ Feingold - 1

I'll eliminate the lowest two: Biden and Feingold. Biden's goes to Clinton, Feingold's to Gore.

That leaves Walker with the lowest vote total, at 2 votes. One of those goes to Rubio, the other goes to Paul.

Now, Gore is the only one down to 3. Two of his votes go to None of these Candidates (i.e. all 5 on that ballot are eliminated) while the other one goes to Hillary.

Now:

Rand Paul - 11
Hillary Clinton - 10
Bernie Sanders - 5
John Kasich - 4
Marco Rubio - 4
None of these Candidates - 4

Now it's both Kasich and Rubio's turn to be eliminated (too lazy to do tiebreakers--I'm doing this all by hand, cut me some slack). 3 of Kasich's go to None of These, while the other stands with Rand; Senator Paul is also joined by 2 Rubio voters, while another goes to None of These, and the 4th is ready for Hillary.

Now:

Rand Paul - 14
Hillary Clinton - 11
Bernie Sanders - 5
None of these Candidates - 8

I suppose Bernie gets the Bronze Medal, but this is neither horseshoes nor hand-grenades, so he's eliminated from the vote. 3 of his go to Hillary, 1 to Rand, and the other to nobody.

Final vote:

Rand Paul - 15
Hillary Clinton - 14
Neither Rand Paul nor Hillary Clinton - 9

Interesting, eh?

I am now officially supporting Bernie Sanders because it would be worth it just to see OC become a G.O.P. hack

Out of the definite/likely candidates:

Bernie
Hillary
Martin
Lincoln
Jim W.

Top ten might be more interesting because it forces left-leaning people to choose Republicans.
