I have gone as fast as 100mph going down Ocean Pkwy at night  (highway that connects several beaches on Long Island), usually when I'm not in traffic on a highway I will go 65-75 (55mph limit) but will approach 80 or 85 when I'm in a hurry.

Been puuled over 2 times in the just about 6 years I have have been driving, neither on a highway. 54 in a 35 got a ticket 77 in a 40 got let go

As far as speed limits, the hihjway limits here on LI are 55mph, probably should be 65, but I can understand why its not & well with the traffic its hard to even go 40 if your  driving anytime near rush- hour(s)

Freeway speed limits should be 75 mph in densely populated areas and 85 or 90 mph in rural areas.

define "densely populated". 75 mph is still way too high around the Twin Cities area. It's 70 mph in all of rural Minnesota and 75 mph in the Dakotas though, which I think is fine.

I live in the Twin Cities area and consistently drive 80 mph. When I'm in a less densly populated area I do 90-95 mph.

Good lord man, what kind of car do you drive?  That seems awfully fast to me.  But if you're in a BMW and Born on the Floor is in a Geo, maybe that explains the disparity.

I actually forget how fast I drive in the US, but it seems like 80 would be a maximum.. average about 60-70.  And thats in a Buick Park Avenue!

no, I drive a Cavalier.

You're very lucky if you haven't gotten ticketed while driving 80 mph. On 35W the speed limit's highest is 65. I don't know if the I-94 is any different though.

Most of my freeway driving is on 94, 694 and 494. Haven't been ticketed on a freeway. My speeding tickets have come on MN-95 in Bayport and Washington County Rd. 12 in Stillwater. Both times I sped up before I hit the higher speed limit.
