So one poll showing McCrory ahead means that we should call this race for him a year and a half out, even when some polls have shown Cooper ahead? Doesn't make sense to me.

Rothenberg has this race LGOP anyways. The other was a PPP.  I dont expect Dems to carry NC in GE.

This certainly isn't good news for Cooper. But you guys shouldn't just assume that McCrory will win based off of a five point lead in a poll taken a year and a half before the actual election. Cooper still has room to grow with name recognition, and added to the facts that he hasn't really started campaigning yet and he could take advantage of Clinton coattails, this race is definitely going to be competitive.
