Being a veteran of any war has no appeal to Americans post-Vietnam for obvious reasons. I'm pretty sure no "War on Terror" veterans will take the presidency-especially Iraq veterans.

I could see Seth Moulton having a shot at some point down the line. I really don't think that the Iraq War is going to be as big of an issue election after election for our generation the same way that Vietnam was for the boomers because there wasn't a draft.

No, as most are getting up in years. I find it fascinating that 3 Presidential losers (Gore, Kerry, McCain) served in Vietnam.

The last Vietnam vets were born in 1954-55. So theyd be 65 in 2020.

Well, Carter and Bush Jr. were military veterans after Vietnam ended.

True, but neither of them really played it up in their campaigns, largely because of Vietnam.

I doubt any of the 20 some Republicans or few Democrats have been to the Jungle. Most of them probably never served at all.
