After 3 pretty dull and borring rounds in which we basically knew who was being voted off 12 hours ahead of time, we got ourselves a dandy in this round it looks like.   Here are the results so far:

Current Tally:

Zachary Taylor - 5

Ulysses S. Grant - 4

Andrew Johnson - 4

Abraham Lincoln - 3

George W. Bush - 2

Rutherford B. Hayes - 1

Franklin D. Roosevelt - 1

John Qunicy Adams - 1

James Garfield - 1

Calvin Coolidge - 1

EVERY VOTE COUNTS IN THIS ONE!!!

James Monroe, once again too nice a guy to be on an island with the likes of men like Bill Clinton.

This is, obviously, the closest race we've had so far. The first round was also close, but it was only a two-way race.

We have 2 hours left to go and we have our closest vote ever.  Right now Andrew Johnson and Zachary Taylor are both tied with the most votes at 7 votes.  Ulysses S. Grant is just 1 vote behind them with 6 votes.

If this tie is not broken, we will have yet another tie breaker in the "Election What if" forum.   So if you haven't voted yet, I strongly urge you to do so.

Alright kids, No voting twice.   One person = One vote.   Once you vote, that's it.  You can not vote again until the next round.

We must be fair about this.  Smiley

Okay folks.  It's Midnight on the east coast and voting for Round 8 is now closed.   We have a close one here.   Just give me a second to tally up all the votes here and I'll do my thing

Okay.   We have a problem here.  Either I miscounted or somebody deleted their Andrew Johnson vote.    I thought Andrew Johnson got eliminated by one vote with 9 votes for Johnson and 8 for Taylor.

Yet when I go back and recount from begining to end, I'm coming up with it tied at 8-8.   If that's the case, then we're gonna have to do a tie breaker.

He did, which if you subtracting one Johnson vote then that explains why its 8-8  instead of 9-8. counting from the 7-7 tie I get it as 9-8.

Okay, I think I know now what the problem is.  If you look at the last vote count that I did it was Taylor 6-; Johnson 5; Grant-5.

Then jfern did a vote count a few posts after that where he comes up with Taylor-7; Johnson-7; Grant-6

But if you look in between my count and jfern's count; you'll only find one vote each for Taylor, Johnson, and Grant.   So when jfern did his count, it should have been Taylor-7; Johnson-6; Grant-6

What I'm pretty sure that happened was the Red NJ Avatar did his duplicate post inbetween my count and jfern's count.  So jfern counted it with his tally, but was unaware that Red NJ avatar voted twice.    Therefore, I'm sure it really is a tie and It's Taylor and Johnson tied at 8.

So we're gonna have to do a tiebreaker hear folks.  It will be up in the Election-What if forum in a few minutes.
