This is a redo of the very first poll series that I did, in which the result was a tie between Brian Schweitzer and Mark Warner: https://uselectionatlas.org/FORUM/index.php?topic=178133.0

Some of the first entries in that poll (that eric82oslo created) were ridiculous, like Oprah and Ashley Judd, but there are also some political figures who certainly will not be considered, such as Colin Powell and Bob Menendez.

I've kept some of the more reasonable choices, and have added many new ones. If you feel that a politician not listed here should be added, please mention this individual in your comments. Any individual(s) who receives the most comments will be added to the next poll.

Note: I originally did not include Gillibrand and Cuomo because of being in the same state as Clinton, but I ultimately decided to include them.

Who should Hillary Clinton pick as her VP? Every week the candidates with the lowest votes will be removed. The first candidate to 50% wins. In this round, you can vote for up to 18 candidates You can always change your vote before the poll ends.

Voted for 10-12, but my top pick would be Steve Bullock.

Hillary doesn't need a 'game changer' as she is already historic (first woman). She doesn't need any specific type of ideological or experience gap balance. So I think she will go for a safe bet with some home state advantage, like someone from OH, CO, or VA. I still think Warner is the best choice (private sector experience, former gov and Sen) and I don't think his close call in 2014 is that big of a deal, but if so then Tim Kaine or look to CO or OH.

Booker is out. Can't afford to give his Senate seat to some Chris Christie goon.

hikenloper he will give us 272 freiwal

No, seriously, Cuomo and Cantwell would be best for Republicans. Klobuchar, Booker or Kaine would be best for Democrats.

Castro will give us that and FL, then Hickenlooper and then Kaine.

Tammy Baldwin would be an extraordinarily bold choice. It could totally backfire, but something ballsy like that would be awesome to see.

I've been thinking a lot about Sen. Sherrod Brown as a reasonable option.

Democrats need his Senate seat.

Based on your apparent definition (or lack thereof) of "right-wing Democrats", I honestly don't even know how to answer that. Tongue

I'd add Anthony Foxx as a plausible pick.

Similar record to Castro (young minority mayor tapped for cabinet post) but he comes from North Carolina.

Apparently the Clinton campaign was concerned about Chris Murphy. He's one of the most liberal Senators ever, and fairly young.

Xavier Becerra is a fairly highly qualified hispanic guy, who can help her with the US House.

Of the poll choices, I could see Cory Booker, Julian Castro, Mark Warner, Tim Kaine, Steve Bullock, Terry McAuliffe, Michael Bennet, and Martin Herinrich getting vetted.

I'm just saying from Hillary's perspective, I think she would be best.

Edit: And, I do think she'd have slightly more impact on a national ticket than in the Senate.
