Seeing as everyone else is playing around with redistricting, I was thinking; "why not me? why not me? a brief illusion of power would be neat"

I'll try to redistrict every U.S state in a way broadly similer to the way the Boundary Commision works over here... I'll be making Congressional Districts out of State Senate Districts* and naming them in a way that is sometimes deeply dull and sometimes slightly insane.
Not all the districts will look very nice; certain State Senate maps are pretty bad as well (ever looked at the sheer joy that is PA's State Senate map?) but they should be better than the current mess.
If this all goes horribly wrong (it probably will) I'll blame someone else.

*California and Texas not included.

Well, if I knew where State Senate districts are...or knew a website where they're all up...I might actually comment...

Oh. Right. There's a map of the WV State Senate districts on my website.

I've always wondered if it would at all be possible to redistrict the state into North, South, and East districts as the state's outline seems to suggest that. However, I do remember trying and failing once. Population distribution favours something like the current setup, reproduced in yours.

The problem with trying an Eastern district (or a combined Charleston-Huntington-Beckley district) is that trying to do the other two districts is impossible without them looking very ugly and having nothing to do with cultural/geographic ties. I've tried it a few times, but it's not really worth it.
