Looks like Jesus is not ready for primetime ...

I predict:

58% Rahm
42% Jesus

Yeah, this is Rahm's ceiling to me. There is too many people against him for Jesus to do too badly, but he also probably won't go beyond 46% or so.

Hope you're right, most of the early vote was already banked for Garcia, before the last debate, but still it wasn't helpful.

This was probably the most interesting part of the last debate - tough series of questions about Garcia's son.
Even Rahm thought it was inappropriate!

Ew

This is awful.

Sad But they called VA for Mark Warner at poll closing time last year Wink

Half an hour after, actually. In the end, they were still (barely) right.

53% of the vote is in already (Wow, this is fast counting), still Rahm 56-44. Difference of roughly 36,000.

Garcia never had enough resources to win this thing: Being outspent by so much, a better Emanuel ground game, Obama,... Quite striking that he even got 44/45%. Sort of like Mary Landrieu.

The Republicrats win again.

So glad the Cuomos and Rahms of the Democratic Party have opened my third eye. A hell of a lot easier to take political news now.

There are still 6,000+ precincts left. Let's not start talking about final numbers. Tongue

The Chicago Tribune should probably stop polling. First they had that stinker showing Quinn up 11, then they said Rahm was gonna win by 28...

Yep. This was easy to see. Garcia basically got about the minimum of what any Rahm challenger should get.

Excellent to see the right policies rewarded!

His attempt to crack the Daley coalition, that included blacks was futile. Blacks voted for Emanuel anyways. That's why the Obama endorsement was so critical in this campaign. That he got Durbin to do robo calls on his behalf.

Preckwrinkle was the only alternative, not Garcia, and lessoned was learned.

Ward 13 Comitteeman is Il Dem Chairman and house speaker Michael J Madigan..He was able to assemble the remnants of the 'machine' to bring out the vote for Rahm

And it looks like he did it again.

There's a nice interactive map showing the vote by ward. The Latino areas stand out pretty clearly for Chuy. Rahm racked up huge margins in the wealthy wards from the Loop north along the lakefront (ward 42: 84.6%, ward 43: 83.8%, ward 44: 74.7%, ward 2: 77.4%) and comfortably carried the black wards.

Once the black wards came in for Rahm, it was over, I was so disappointed.
