Posts per day on the forum was down a little in July compared to June, but still up compared to the same month four years ago, and still above 50,000 for the (record setting) 6th month in a row.  I assume next month will also be above 50,000, since we have two conventions and a VP announcement.  Seems likely that we'll be able to keep up 50,000+ posts a month through November.

Also, olawakandi is probably about 3 weeks away from hitting the 40,000 post mark.

olawakandi has crossed the 40,000 post mark.  Again, the big question with him is whether he'll continue to post at the same incredibly high rate after Election Day or not.  If he does then I guess he'll crack the top ten at some point in early 2021, and will rocket up the Top Ten list after that.

There really is something pretty impressive about being able to chug out 1000-1500 posts a month on such a consistent basis since like what December last year. I just don't know how anybody could do that

what's the current ETA on BRTD hitting 6 digits?  We should do some kind of "guess the year/month" game for it.  (though we'd have to somehow not let him know about it for it to be truly fair and that's probably impossible)

It looks like he's made nearly 500 posts in the past month.  If he actually kept that up, then that would get him to 100,000 in something like March 2022?  But I think that's a much higher rate than his typical posting rate outside of election season, so I don't see him keeping this up past November.  2023 seems more realistic.

Olawakandi will presumably pass me for 12th place in about a month, and then pass Eraserhead for 11th about a month and a half after that.  When he reaches 10th place again depends on how active he's going to be after the election.

When he does hit 10th place, it'll presumably come from passing opebo, since NCY is probably less than a month away from passing opebo for 9th place.

I don't think I ever put it quite like that.  Given enough time, it was always inevitable.  Though I may have said that it was quite a few years away.  I mean, no one else who is hovering just outside the top ten is posting very much anymore.  I'm only making ~100 posts a month these days, so it'll presumably take me quite a few years to catch opebo.

But yes, olawakandi is going to make it happen much faster than I would have previously expected.

Unless the forum is shut down for some reason, I don't see how opebo will still be in the top 10 five years from now.  Potentially, he could be out within three years.  At the rate jfern's going, he's very likely going to bump opebo down to 9th place this year.  And then, you need to two more posters to knock him down to 11th place, but that'll eventually happen with enough time.  Might be North Carolina Yankee and me, or maybe North Carolina Yankee and IceSpear, or something like that, though it would be years away.  IceSpear's impossible to predict long term, because he alternates between posting like 1000 posts a month and not posting at all.  Maybe if he's especially active in this presidential campaign cycle, he could get within striking distance of the top 10.

And actually, if you were to keep posting at your current posting rate indefinitely, you'd end up catching up to opebo's current tally in about 5 years too.

A confirmed pedo who was banned on Jan 10 2014, who from the posts I read on his back log started to get rather controversial in his last year here. In fact, when there was a poll for if people were in favor of his ban or not, the ratings were roughly 50-50 (give or take a percent on both ways) at the time
