William H. Harrison - who was so dumb, he didn't know when to come in out of the weather.

It is a pity that Bush is being voted off at such an early stage. Although I strongly oppose many of his policies (especially the unjustified restriction of civil liberties in the "war on terrorism"), he is far from being the worst President in the history of the United States.

Jimmy Carter

I have my doubts about how well this is going to work out.  FDR, LBJ, Reagan and W are all going to go early and we'll probably be left with Pierce vs. van Buren in the final round Tongue

It's good to see some perspective.  I think that presidents whose legacy is clear should be voted off first, and the more recent ones saved until later.  There are more than enough bad ones to go around for the first few rounds. Smiley  That's why I didn't vote for Clinton, despite my dislike for him.

Indeed. Although I do not particularly care for his policies, Bush is not thoroughly corrupt and incompetent, like, for instance, Grant or Harding.

I didn't want to have to start out partisanly, but it looks like the Republicans have started it already so I vote:

The first person to be voted off isn't supposed to be the worst president. He's supposed to be the president the most people hate the most.

Just a reminder to all that voting for this open round does end tonight at Midnight Eastern Time as it will every night until the game is over.    If a Vote comes in at 12:01 a.m, it will NOT be counted.

I am going to start a new thread for each round, that way it will make it easier to count votes for each round.  So after this round is complete, tommorow voting will be done on an entirely different thread.   Thanks.
