Are we treating a literal one percenter (As in 1% in the polls) as a serious candidate?

I was just going by the Wikipedia article showing who has "publicly expressed interest". Besides, Kasich is at 1% usually too. Trump actually led in some GOP primary polls in 2011. Tongue

I don't understand what we're being asked to judge them on here.  How they'd do as president?  Their chances in a general election, should they be nominated?  Their chances of being nominated?

- Young good looking senator from one of the biggest swing states in america (a state republicans HAVE to win to have any chance)
- Amazing speaker
- Has some good ideas about tax reforms and college reform
- Up to date on foreign policy
- IMO probably would match up best against hillary Clinton in a GE (didn't she already lose to a young good looking African american first term senator in 2008 when she had the nomination in the "bag"? can't remember?)
- Should be able to do much better than republicans have with the young vote and hispanic vote than in the past.
-Comes from VERY humbling beginnings, great story for the middle class

The list can go on much longer as well to why Marco rubio would probably be the greatest threat to a Hillary presidency.

Best
1.Scott Walker
2.Rand Paul
3.Ben Carson

Other notes
1.John Kasich likely isn't going to run
2.On Chris Christie:

A new Monmouth University poll in New Jersey finds Gov. Chris Christie’s (R) job ratings “have continued their post-Labor Day decline… Nearly two-thirds of Christie’s constituents say that he is more concerned about his own political future than he is about the state, with increasing skepticism of the stated purpose for his recent foreign trips.”

“When New Jerseyans are asked who would make a better president – Chris Christie or Hillary Clinton, Clinton gets the nod from 58%, with 32% choosing the Garden State governor.”

I just randomly remembered making this post. I love old threads.

- Myself putting Kasich, Walker, and Paul as the strongest candidates. LMAO
- But I somewhat make up for it by foretelling Trump's surge and correctly saying the establishment candidates (especially Jeb) were overrated
- Maxwell dismissing Trump as a 1% joke candidate

Yeah, I've made a lot of bad predictions this cycle. I didn't know Trump would rise to be the shining super star he is.

Lol he was an extremely popular and successful governor, he has foreign policy experience, and sensible moderate positions to reach across the aisle and pick up voters who don't usually vote Republican. How is he a joke?

Interesting how many people said Bush was overrated. I definitely would never have thought that back in March when some of these posts were made. Good call.
