What is your opinion of the Republican New Jersey governor and 2016 potential presidential candidate?

I used to like him, but that was when I was under the illusion that he was the most electable Republican Presidential candidate. HP.

I'm probably an outlier in that I think him scheduling the NJ special election weeks before the gubernatorial was the worst thing he's done, considering how transparently wasteful it was. It's not just taxpayer dollars, it's also the time people had to spend voting in a separate election. I bet all in all the social cost adds up to a lot more than Bridgegate.

I used to want him for President, started to like him less after Bridgegate, and then finally this put him stoutly in HP territory for me.

Three people said FF, but there was only one vote. ...

Anyway, still FF but much less than before his reelection and Bridgegate.

A dismal failure as Governor, and a puppet for the dying Law and Order segment of the Republican Party. Not a favorable opinion, as you can guess.

How dare he call himself a New Jerseyan and then go and give Jerry Jones a great big campaign-financin' bear hug.

I could forgive being a bad Governor before I could forgive being a Cowboys fan.

(I could forgive being a Cowboys fan before I could forgive canceling ARC and RGGI though.)

meh. Not quite sure he'd make a good president given his bullying nature and trust issues (*cough* bridgegate *cough*). But taking his whole tenure into account, he's been a good, moderate governor. Tilt FF.

HP, and his Cowboys fandom - a common trait of terrible NJ residents - reinforces that.

Just to clarify, are you implying that Christie's aides did not purposely slow down traffic on the George Washington Bridge?

He seems like the sort of Republican who can play the center and get things done. Not particularly an ideas guy though.

He probably just believes the multiple reports indicating that he had no involvement.  I'm sure a Democratic governor who was cleared of all charges and fired all of his aides who had been a part of a scandal wouldn't exactly be "feelin' the hate" from Atlas, or the media for that matter.
