Early 302 AL: Turn Thirteen:

General View:

Winterfell burns again and Stannis Baratheon is dead, leaving Westeros in an increasing state of shock. As the news of the Army of Winter spread through the North and to the noble houses of the South the war still doesn't have an end in sight, Queen Daenerys's allies still outnumbered by the combined manpower of the Reach and the Vale. Can Stannis's allies and her avenge their King? Will the Targaryen Restoration succeed? Shall Westeros be covered in ice and death with an increasingly harsh winter?

Updated Cast:

Daenerys Targaryen, Claimant to the Iron Throne and Dragonlady of Volantis (Fingerbones)
Culrikhan, the Night's King (Mr. X)
Willas Tyrell, Lord of Highgarden (Spamage)
Tyrion Lannister, Lord of Casterly Rock (leonardothered)
Aurane Velaryon, Admiral of Blackwater Bay and Lord Regent of Driftmark (Garlan Gunter)
Victarion Greyjoy, King of Iron Islands (Dkrol)
Doran Martell, Prince of Dorne (Talleyrand)
Edmure Tully, Lord of Riverrun (Dereich)
Anya Waynwood, Protector of the Realm and Lady of Ironoaks (Badgate)

Daenerys Targaryen:
-Prestige: 9/10.
-Gold: 950.000 GD.
-Legitimacy: 7/10.

-After a swift marriage to Tyrion Lannister you fly North with Viserion, Rhaegal and Drogon (now properly supplied thanks to House Lannister), and you are close to the Neck. North of you are the disorganized Houses of the North and the Sidhe, but to your South your allies face complicated battles for the control of the Westerlands against the Baratheon loyalists. North or South, where shall you and your dragons go?

Culrikhan:
-Prestige: 8/10.
-Legitimacy: 6/10.

-The Battle of Winterfell cost you your arm and several warriors, but the Sidhe stand strong as the North panics and more and more people are turned into wights. Having married Beltaine and with Stannis Baratheon as one of your servants you have reached what seems the pinnacle of your power, and there is still much to be done. Where shall the Sidhe strike next?

Willas Tyrell:
-Prestige: 8/10.
-Gold: 1.970.000 GD.
-Legitimacy: 8/10.

-With the news of Stannis's death spreading through the Reach, more and more Lords join the ranks of those who wish to back Daenerys and leave the Baratheons to their own. Lord Redwyne has been sent a signed letter asking you to side with the Targaryens, hoping as he does that Asha Greyjoy's victory could return her sister from the claws of Victarion Greyjoy.

-The Vale has taken the first move and now they have a new Grand Maester, which means an alternate election could cause a major split. Will you formally recognize Grand Maester Perestan and the so called "New Citadel"?

-Your scouting ships report that Asha Greyjoy's Ironfleet sails near the coasts of the Reach, probably headed towards Pyke. Will you interrupt the path of the Ironborn despite the large risks it could bring?

Tyrion Lannister:
-Prestige: 8/10.
-Gold: 2.050.000 GD.
-Legitimacy: 7/10.

-Your marriage to Daenerys Targaryen has brought you a heavy increase in prestige as the new King Consort, and already the Westerlords are plotting to advance themselves, many asking positions at court, a clarification of the situation of the rest of your family, and even talk of moving the capital to Lannisport if the city can be rebuilt despite the Ironborn sackings. What will you do?

-Ser Balon Swann, now sole heir to House Swann in the Stormlands, asks to be able to return to his lands to serve Edric Baratheon. Despite lacking a large number of good knights, will you allow him to return?

Anya Waynwood:
-Prestige: 5/10.
-Gold: 600.000 GD.
-Legitimacy: 5/10.

-Yours is a complicated situation, Lady Waynwood. Stannis and Lord Royce are dead, making you Regent of the Baratheon Realm and the leading Lady in the Vale (but not yet formal regent), but your armies needs to be informed so they can follo your leads, and so do your Lords.

-The capital of Gulltown was easily secured due to the work of Ser Davos Seaworth, who refused to take part in a political struggle. With him comes the royal treasury, but Ser Andar Royce has left the capital in disgust towards the lands of his father, followed by the staunchest Royce loyalists.

-Finally, both bad and good news arrived from the royal residence. Queen Ysilla managed to give birth to a daughter after a prolonged and difficult labor, but weakened and filled with grief over the demise of her father and her husband as she was the Queen could not find the strength to survive. She and Stannis leave thus two daughters; Shireen and the newborn Argella, leaving you with some margin to manuever: Crown the growing and thirteen year old Shireen, or find a suitable male claimant. The drawback to the last option is that the only male Baratheons are Tommen Lannister/Baratheon (whose ancestry is in doubt) and the legitimized Edric Baratheon, both in the firms hands of the Targaryens.

Victarion Greyjoy:
-Prestige: 7/10.
-Gold: 550.000 GD.
-Legitimacy: 7/10.

-Victory at the Westerlands has earned you an increase in popularity and loyalty from your men, but it seems the decisive point has been reached as your niece Asha approaches the Iron Islands with her fleet. What will you do to secure your throne?

-Also, your wife Desmera has been causing your trouble. A hostage since the day she was kidnapped from the Arbor, Desmera has increased her attempts at escaping, almost succeeding in the past two. What should be done about her?

Aurane Velaryon:
-Prestige: 9/10.
-Gold: 520.000 GD.
-Legitimacy: 7/10.

-King Stannis is gone as the North collapses in chaos, and this might be the time for you to secure your own power. The climate makes it very hard to sail too far into the North, but it is not impossible. What shall you do, Lord Velaryon?

-Qyburn sends news from Braavos, as the Iron Bank is carefully considering your proposal. While no doubt they see considerable advantages in your suggestion, they are concerned at the threat still posed by House Tyrell and the remaining Arryn vassal. Qyburn believes an assurance that military action will not be taken against Braavos and Pentos and permission for the Bank to expand into the liberated Free Cities would go a long way in securing their trust.

Doran Martell:
-Prestige: 4/10.
-Gold: 200.000 GD.
-Legitimacy: 10/10.

-House Martell has been weakened, but unlike other Houses yours has a lot of power left to wield. A deal with Queen Daenerys has returned your control over Dorne as Prince Quentyn resumes his rulership of Sunspear, but you and the rest of your family reside in Storm's end under the watchful eyes of Lord Varys and Magister Illyrio.

-While relatively short on assets, Lord Yronwood has gladly put the remaining Dornish aemy back under your command, an army that could return to defend Dorne or even support Daenerys's conquests. Obara, Sarella and Nym, the surviving Sand Snakes have reached Storm's End after mourning Tyrene, and they offer you their full loyalty to help House Martell through these troubled times.

Edmure Tully:
-Prestige: 4/10.
-Gold: 100.000 GD.
-Legitimacy: 10/10.

-Life has improved under the Riverlands over the past few months. While heavily damaged, most of the Sparrows and outlaws have been hanged or stopped, and with due time the region could heal. Alas, the clouds of war still threaten you, as the news from the North grow dire and the Baratheons seem to fall appart. What will you do?

-Militarily speaking the tireless efforts of the Blackfish have consolidated a new army on Harrenhal, but with recruitment being hard to do it is an army that should be used wisely. Likewise, Sansa Stark remains unwed and a powerful asset, but she has expresssed her unwillingness to marry for the time being.

-Finally, it should be noted Riverrun has been fixed and reinforced after all the past battles, currently guarded by both your troops and the garrison left by the Valemen.

-Note: As to whom resides currently in Riverrun you can find your wife, Lady Roslin, your infant son, Hoster, Sansa, and her sworn swords Brienne of Tarth and Ser Hyle Hunt.

Early 302 AL: Aftermath:

Ironborn Civil War:

Even with their inevitable divide between loyalist from the various Greyjoy claimants it took a long time for the last of them to engage in battle, as Euron Greyjoy’s unexpected demise put Asha Greyjoy into command of a large fleet, which after months of travel was finally back in the Iron Island. Gathering his forces from his strikes at the Westerlands and hoping for a swift victory King Victarion had his wife Desmera executed and sent his fleet against Asha, only to face a shocking defeat.

The Battle of the Kraken Sea saw Victarion Greyjoy’s Ironfleet crushed by Queen Asha’s forces due to the unexpected arrival of a large number of krakens, creatures that had been increasingly aggressive over the past years and that now seemed to be under full command of the Greyjoy Queen. Asha would following her victory by taking command of the houses and forces that deserted Victarion, launching an assault on Pyke to put an end to the war.

After several days of infighting and small purges, Victarion Greyjoy fell in battle at the walls of Pyke and Aeron Greyjoy was put in chains, putting an end to the regime installed by the Kingsmoot and the drowned priests. With no credible claimants around and with the Ironborn shocked by the use of krakens and the alliance with the dragons, Asha Greyjoy was formally crowned on Pyke.

The second war of Stags and Dragons:

The Disappearance of Daenerys Targaryen: Many expected Daenerys to ride against the Tyrells after her marriage to Tyrion Lannister, yet the Queen rode North presumably to fight the Sidhe. Queen Daenerys rode amongst the clouds, yet she did not return over the following weeks, leading to increasing speculation on her fate amongst her supporters. King Tyrion was quick to assert his rights by taking over the formal Regency as Protector of the Realm, and persuading new Hand of the Queen Barristan Selmy and the loyalists in the Stormlands to support his efforts. It was amidst these arrangements and the inevitable battles on the Westerlands that news arrived from Dragonstone and Gulltown.

Rise of the Seahorse: Having played all sides with remarkable skill, Lord Aurane Velaryon showed his skill by doing a shocking double switch. By pledging new support to the Waynwood Regency he was able to have the forces of Ser Lyn Corbray available to him, and the Vale Army and Velaryon Fleet wasted no time in crushing the weak Lannister garrison at Dragonstone as the fleet was captured. The island secured and firmly under Velaryon's lieutenants, Ser Lyn Corbray sealed a new alliance with him by capturing or killing the Waynwood loyalists, as both men sailed with their forces towards the Vale.

It was a few days later than their combined forces struck the Baratheon capital at Gulltown, which had recently been evacuated by most of the court. Barely having the forces to hold the city Ser Lyn was able to crush the City Watch and have Lord Damon Shett executed, seizing the Royal Treasury and taking Ser Davos Seaworth prisoner. The next day both Corbray and Velaryon proclaimed their support for Queen Shireen and denounced the current Small Council, newly proclaimed Lord Lyn Corbray claiming the Vale Regency and Lord Velaryon proclaiming himself Protector of the Realm.

As Lord Velaryon sailed to aid White Harbor and his allies in House Manderly, Lord Corbray led his army to siege Ironoaks (held by Waynwood loyalists along with Princess Argella and Grand Maester Perestan), entirely disrupting the plans of the Lady Regent to call for a Grand Council as she was forced to take defensive measures at the Eyrie along with Queen Shireen and young Lord Robert. Lords scrambled to consider the situation as Ser Andar Royce escaped to the Riverlands in order to rally Lord Coldwater and his troops, leaving the entire region in sheer political chaos as ravens arrived with the news that the armies of the Vale were returning from the Westerlands.

Battles of the Gold Road: In the aftermath of Queen Daenerys's disappearance the war resumed on the Westerlands, as Lord Tarly kept his march while King Tyrion rallied the Targaryen loyalists knowing that a loss on the region could mean the end of his cause. Attempts to bring Randyll Tarly and Andar Royce into his side failed, but the combined forces of Ser Barristan and Ser Jorah moved towards the Westerlands to attempt and secure the region.

Following the breakdown of negotiations the Westerlanders proceeded to raid and harass the enemy forces, slowing them enough for a concentration of forces to ocurr. As all armies maneuvered to reach the best position, the Targaryens fielded the unlikely eastern forces of Essos plus an army of sellswords and western knights, as Tarly and the small contingent of Ser Morton Waynwood brought the proud cavalry of the Reach and Vale forward.

The first encounters came as Lord Tarly managed to drive a wedge between Lannisters and Targaryens, first facing Ser Addam Marbrand and his Lannister-sellsword combined army. The First Battle of the Gold Road had Ser Addam put on a brave effort, but not nearly enough to avoid being soundly defeated by the Reachmen. Alas, Lord Tarly could not pursue the enemy due to the proximity of Ser Barristan, keeping casualties at a similar level. Lord Tarly pulled a second masterful stroke by engaging on the Targaryen force before Ser Addam could even intervene, but the results were less than auspicious.

The Second Battle of the Gold Road put two of the most experienced soldiers in Westeros against each other, and the outcome came down to the Reach knights trying to break the Unsullied lines. Several charges took place that day, but in the end the Unsullied kept the line as in Qohor versus the Tyrells, turning Tarly's brilliant moves into a rout. Abandoned by Coldwater and having lost many men from his initial invading force, Randyll Tarly took his armies back to the Reach, King Tyrion having bought some time against the might of the Reach.

The Sidhe Invasion:

Northern Raids: Consolidating Winterfell as a new base for the invading Army of Winter and sitting atop his throne of skulls, King Culrikhan ordered further raids across the North. As the hordes of wights rose and the masses of refugees made movement difficult, armies stormed the Dreadfort, Barrowtown and Deepwood Motte as the few Northerner ships did their best to save as much lives as possible, many Lords sacrificing themselves for the sake of saving whatever could be saved. With the refugees being so many movement was limited this time for the Sidhe, and forces sent towards Moat Cailin failed to reach the fortress. It was at White Harbor that most attention was sent, though.

The Battle of White Harbor: As the strongest Northern Lord still standing Lord Manderly wasted on time in setting up a defense, rallying many northern troops into setting up a massive system of defense across the lands leading to the city. Many key refugees reached the city as well, including Lady Karstark, Ser Alliser Throne, Samwell Tarly and several minor Lords and knights. Early skirmishes outside the fortification led to strong losses for the Manderlys, but the arrival of Lord Aurane Velaryon and his fleets proved decisive in saving the city.

Along with reinforcements, wide reserves of dragonglass were sent from the now captured Dragonstone, arming the defenders with weapons capable of fighting wights and Sidhe alike. It was an enormously large force that assaulted the city, but the fight would drag for days as fort by fort had to be taken. In the end, Sidhe forces were able to destroy most of the defense lines set up by Manderly and Velaryon, but at a very high price. The enemy stopped by the moment over the need of reinforcements, thousands of people are being evacuated to the Vale via the fleets.

Mind you, I had some orders a bit confused and so the army location might have quite a few mistakes, so please inform me if something's wrong.

Shouldn't the map show me controlling Barrowton and Karhold given that I've taken both cities?

Early to Mid 302 AL: Turn Fourteen:

General View:

Stags and Dragons face betrayals as men like Aurane Velaryon and Lyn Corbray show their true colors, the ongoing war smashing the remaining strength of the noblemen of Westeros just as the Sidhe stand close to a complete conquest of the North. Can anyone stop the madness soon enough?

Updated Cast:

Daenerys Targaryen, Claimant to the Iron Throne and Dragonlady of Volantis (Dkrol)
Culrikhan, the Night's King (Mr. X)
Aurane Velaryon, Protector of the Realm and Admiral of Blackwater Bay (Garlan Gunter)
Anya Waynwood, Protector of the Realm and Lady of Ironoaks (Badgate)
Tyrion Lannister, Lord of Casterly Rock and King Consort (leonardothered)
Willas Tyrell, Lord of Highgarden and Warden of the South (Spamage)
Doran Martell, Prince of Dorne (Talleyrand)
Edmure Tully, Lord of Riverrun (Dereich)

Daenerys Targaryen:
-Prestige: 8/10.
-Gold: 920.000 GD.
-Legitimacy: 6/10.

-As you return to Casterly Rock it seems the ill fated trip to the North has taken a toll on your cause, as House Targaryen faces some significant strategic disadvantages to fight against the Baratheons. Can you secure a Targaryen restoration for good?

-Ravens from the Stormlands report that most of the region is now formally secured under Lord Caffereen and Lord Edric, but the severe damage inflicted for the war seems to have taken a huge toll on logistics and the region's economy. Will you address this?

-Lord Varys writes from Storm's End, asking for plans regarding the seat of power of the realm. He advocates for moving the court out of the Stormlands, but he also questions the wisdom of the west as Lannisport has been sacked several times. He also wonders if his spy network should be put to renewed use despite the loss of his birds in the North.

-Finally, although you have lost a valuable ally in Lord Velaryon, Queen Asha's victory against Victarion Greyjoy gives you a shot at having the still powerful Ironborn on your side. How will you handle these new potential allies?

Culrikhan:
-Prestige: 8/10.
-Legitimacy: 8/10.

-More and more Northern keeps become seats for the Sidhe, but recent battles have taken their toll on your troops as dragonglass is heavily used in the ongoing siege of White Harbor. Are the Sidhe to crush this city as soon as possible? Are they to march on the Riverlands and invade Southern Westeros? Is Winterfell set to become the final seat of power of the Army of Winter?

Willas Tyrell:
-Prestige: 6/10.
-Gold: 1.920.000 GD.
-Legitimacy: 8/10.

-Lord Redwyne has deposed his calls for open change in light of his sister's horrible death, but the Lords of the Reach remain unconvinced over supporting Shireen now that the Vale is falling to pieces. It will take concrete events to get them to depose their misgivings.

-Lord Tarly was defeated after a long series of drawn out battles in the West, but he has managed to bring most of the army back after a months-long campaign. Should Tarly be rewarded or punished over this situation? And, should his men return once again to invade the Westerlands?

-Finally, with the recent invasion of the Vale by forces also claiming to be the rightful regents to Shireen, some of the more ambitious elements at court are also suggesting the Regency and Handship should belong to House Tyrell, especially now that Ser Davos Seaworth is a prisoner.

Tyrion Lannister:
-Prestige: 8/10.
-Gold: 2.020.000 GD.
-Legitimacy: 9/10.

-House Lannister has been spared from the current invasion thanks to Ser Barristan and the civil war in the Vale, but the difference in manpower still creates odds that remain against your House. Can you navigate through these complicated waters and save your family?

-Your moves to reform the Small Council were interrumpted by the past battles and the return of Daenerys, but some Lords believe there is merit for filling all the positions as soon as possible and moving the court towards the Westerlands. Despite the initial misgivings about a Targaryen alliance, it seems many of them see quite a promising future with the Queen.

-Queen Asha has rejected your offer regarding a potential match, but she remains open to further consultation. It should be remembered the Ironborn still hold several parts of the Westerlander coastline thanks to Victarion's raids, so this situation should certainly be addressed soon.

Anya Waynwood:
-Prestige: 4/10.
-Gold: 150.000 GD.
-Legitimacy: 3/10.

-While you found a brilliant way in defusing political tension at the Vale by calling a Great Council, your efforts have been ruined in any was due to the sudden treachery of Corbrays and Velaryons, who now threaten to take away your regency and perhaps your life if it comes to it. You do stand safe in the Eyre at the moment with Queen Shireen, Lord Arryn and some loyal forces, but can you crush the dissent at the Vale?

-The loss of Gulltown and the siege of Ironoaks have led to defections from your camp towards Lord Lyn Corbray and other potential houses, forcing the Vale Houses to redefine your loyalties. Aside from your house and the hostage House Grafton you have recieved pledges of support from Houses Templeton, Hunter and Waxley, offering their loyalty as the rightful Regent. Lyn Corbray has only won the reclutant support of his kin at House Corbray, but the powerful Houses Lynderly, Belmore and Redfort seem likely to jump towards the side of whoever emerges as the likely winner.

-While you can count on the mountain men forces as an army to fight Lord Lyn, the main forces of the Vale still untouched are on the march with Lord Coldwater and Ser Andar Royce towards the region. Their loyalty still unclear, they have at least refused offers by the Lannisters to back Daenerys Targaryen.

-The Riverrun garrison ended up melting away at the battles in the Gold Road, and your son Ser Morton is now in the North of the Reach without a real mission. What should Ser Morton do for the cause?

Aurane Velaryon:
-Prestige: 10/10.
-Gold: 900.000 GD.
-Legitimacy: 7/10. (No changes because of the change of formal liege)

-Congratulations, Lord Velaryon! You have sacked Gulltown and Dragonstone and led a successful defense of White Harbor, quite incredibly accomplishments for the Lord of the Waters. That said, you have been playing a game that is increasingly one of high risks and high rewards, so be careful of what might ensure.

-As you stand in White Harbor it is clear that the city might not last very long, and several noblemen have requested your formal protection, led by House Manderly, Lady Karstark, Ser Alliser Thorne and Samwell Tarly. How will you deal with the increasingly volatile situation?

-The Vale raids failed to give you the hostages you wanted, but Ser Davos Seaworth is now your prisoner in the Seasmoke. What shall be done to him? Furthermore, Qyburn has managed to return from Essos, having successfully sabotages any attempts by House Targaryen to find friends in Braavos. Alas, Essos has been emptied of sellswords, so there is no more available help.

-Lord Lyn has been successful in the Vale, but he might have to face strong forces with the Waynwoods and especially if the Royce's stand against him. How will you aid Lord Lyn? And furthermore, how will you secure your new title of "Protector of the Realm", contested by so many?

Doran Martell:
-Prestige: 4/10.
-Gold: 180.000 GD.
-Legitimacy: 10/10.

-No major changes for House Martell over the past weeks, although ravens by Quentyn indicate that Sunspear is slowly recovering from the previous raid as the region increases it's defenses.

-With the "New Citadel" formed in the Vale, some of the Sand Snakes are of the opinion that infiltration might be of some help. Salleras has the skills of enter given her earier time at the the Citadel of Oldtown, should she be put to the task?

-Despite the misgivings of the Spider and the Cheesemonger, Lord Caffeeren has asked you to put the Dornish army of Lord Yronwood to use, as the Stormlands are under Targaryen control for the time being. Where should Lord Yronwood march, and should House Martell ask for permission to finally abandon Storm's End?

Edmure Tully:
-Prestige: 6/10.
-Gold: 80.000 GD.
-Legitimacy: 10/10.

-Riverrun is now yours to fully control as the Vale garrison has dissapeared, which means the Riverlands can slowly increase its control over the castles. New sources of income are found as well as the Lords return to their keeps, but the questions over Harrenhal and The Twins continue.

-Ser Brynden has started to heavily fortify The Twins in anticipation for any attacks, and he is confident that assaults could be successfuly resisted, at least for some time. That said, hundreds and thousands of refugees arrive from the North, many of them asking for permission to join Lady Sansa in Riverrun and pledge loyalty to her (this includes several of the remaining Northern nobles).

Early to Mid 302 AL: Aftermath:

Gods, I had to kill a lot of people... Where were those assassination plots before?

The Sidhe Invasion:

The Neck Offensive: With masses of refugees going South and the majority starving to death or engulfing the ranks of the Army of Winter, it wasn't even a challenge for the Sidhe to crush the remnants of the west shore, ending any pockets of resistance as they took Flint's Finger. Free to march South now, the winter hordes would fight a series of engagements with the masses of refugees, crushing House Reed and its lord, taking Moat Cailin, and Greywater Watch and finally starting their march on the Riverlands. It would be at the Twins that Ser Brynden Tully made his stand, fighting a brave battle which saw the Sidhe frontlines repelled. Alas, the news of the Riverrun massacre forced him to withdraw, destroying the bridge and the frozen lakes to buy time.

Fall of White Harbor: The defence lines broken and with a final Sidhe attack being imminent, Lord Velaryon presented House Manderly with a clear choice: fight and die, or live to fight another day. Having fled the Reach decades ago the Manderlys were now forced to flee the North, choosing to evacuate to the Vale rather than suffer the fate of their fellow houses. In the end, Lord Manderly and most of the garrison and population made it's escape on the large combined Velaryon fleet, allowing the Sidhe to finally claim the main port of the North and capture enough ships for their next assault.

Thus followed a wight offensive into Skagos, which crushed one of the three main houses and forced the others into a desperate fight. Lord Velaryon, free from a fight in the seas, redeployed his fleets to fortify Gulltown and Dragonstone, scoring an exceptional coup by having his flagship capture a boat in route South. Inside of it came the boy Rickon Stark, once thought dead.

The Second War of Stags and Dragons:

The Riverrun Massacre: For reasons currently unknown House Tyrell choose to move against House Tully instead of the Targaryens, a military unit travelling to Riverrun to supposedly bring Queen Shireen home. Alas, as soon as Lord Edmure opened up the gates the Tyrell troops attacked and sacked the fortress, killing Lord Edmure, his wife and son after a fierce encounter. Few men managed to escape through the secret passages, led by Lady Brienne of Tarth and Lady Sansa Stark, who lived thanks to the brave sacrifice of Ser Hyle Hunt. The move sent shockwaves through the Riverlands as the Tyrells have been denounced for breaking guest right, many puzzled as to why would they betray their former allies.

Second Field of Fire/Reach Invasion: As Lord Tarly did his best to prepare his army against a potential invasion, the Targaryen chose to attack at them as soon as possible, perhaps hoping to break the war stalemate. The first move belonged to Ser Barristan Selmy, his army moving South to crush the raiding bands that kept attacking the Westerlanders. As Selmy kept pushing the raiders back on his engagements, he pressed Tarly's flanks hard enough to force him into a fight. A potential fight to the death between two of the finest Westerosi soldiers might have been the result, had Queen Daenerys not descended from the skies with her dragons...

They called it the Second Field of Fire, for Lord Randyll Tarly and thousands of his men perished in defense of the Reach. The destruction of the Tyrell forces allowed for Goldengove to fall as well, with ravens bringing news that would shock Daenerys's War Council and force them into a complicated decision. On the bright side, Queen Asha had denounced her husband to declare her loyalty for Queen Daenerys, returning the captured Westerlander islands and launching the Iron Fleet against the Reach coasts, taking and sacking Old Oak with ease. On the bad side, assassins hired by Lady Anya Waynwood had stormed Casterly Rock, killing King Consort Tyrion as he tried to defend his nephew and niece from certain death. The news left the Queen widowed for the third time.

Martell Uprising: Despite the uneasy peace set on the Stormlands following the successful naming of Edric Baratheon as the Lord Paramount, House Martell never had its sights on supporting House Targaryen, subtly undermining the Targaryen war effort in the region. The matter eventually exploded as teams of assassins attacked the fortress, resulting in Magister Illyrio Mopatis being stabbed to death and Lord Varys himself being poisoned. The resulting assault by the Dornish Army nearby took Storm's End and captured Lord Caffereen and Lord Edric, ending the Martell captivity. As of now, the Stormlords demand Edric to be returned and the Dornishmen to go home.

Civil War on the Vale: While the Vale situation was already made complicated by the fall of Gulltown, recent developments would make it even more confusing. The first move was taken once more by Lord Lyn, who forced the surrendering of Ironoaks from the intimidated Grand Maester Perestan, the Grand Maester and Princess Argella being taken to Gulltown for their "safety". Lady Waynwood reacted by forcing an attack on Heart's Home to draw Corbray, the Lord refusing to move due to the distance involved. Not having taken the bait, it fell onto Ser Donnel Waynwood to fight Corbray with his army. The resulting Battle of Ironoaks would cost the Waynwoods hundreds of men by assaulting the enemy position, yet despite their losses Corbray would have to withdraw to Gulltown as Heart's Home considered surrendering.

It was then that Lord Velaryon and House Manderly landed on Gulltown following their escape, the Lord Protector taking his time to crown Princess Argella before leaving again with his fleet. As the Corbrays and Velaryons set up their impressive defenses at Gulltown, news from the Eyrie stunned the Vale Lords: Lord Robert Arryn had died in the middle of one of his shaking fits, still a young boy. Lady Waynwood quickly proclaimed Ser Harold Hardying (still a "guest" of Velaryon) the new Lord of the Vale, hoping to rally her fellow lords to the cause. Sadly for Lady Waynwood, Ser Andar Royce and Lord Royce Coldwater arrived into the Bloody Gate after sending proclaims of their own through the Vale, commenting suspicion on the death of Lord Arryn and denouncing Waynwood and Corbray as unsuitable for their positions, putting his own claim forward.

Thus, the Vale was left further divided, Royces, Waynwoods and Corbrays now claiming the rulership of the region.

Mid 302 AL: Turn Fifteen:

General View:

As virtually the entire North is covered in death and the Riverlands have been breached, panic strucks the remaining Westerosi noblemen as the threat of the Sidhe proves unstoppable. Are there even enough troops to fight the hordes of the death? And more importantly, can the nobles unite in time?

Updated Cast:

Daenerys Targaryen, Claimant to the Iron Throne and Dragonlady of Volantis (Dkrol)
Culrikhan, the Night's King (Mr. X)
Aurane Velaryon, Protector of the Realm and Admiral of Blackwater Bay (Garlan Gunter)
Lord Andar Royce, Lord of Runestone (Badgate)
Jaime Lannister, Lord Regent of Casterly Rock (leonardothered)
Willas Tyrell, Lord of Highgarden and Warden of the South (Spamage)
Doran Martell, Prince of Dorne (Talleyrand)

Daenerys Targaryen:
-Prestige: 9/10.
-Gold: 900.000 GD.
-Legitimacy: 6/10.

-Victory has been found against the Tyrells following the death of Randyll Tarly, but you have lost the Stormlands and many of your best advisors thanks to Martell treachery. Thus, the strategic dilemma is clear: Keep marching South and crush the weakened Tyrells, or go North to contain the Sidhe?

-The death of Tyrion Lannister leaves you widowed for the third time, but the Westerlanders seem willing to continue with the alliance if only to save themselves from doom. How shall you react to new Lord Regent Jaime Lannister, known to your House as the Kingslayer?

-Lord Horas Redwyne rises in revolt at the Arbor following the massacre at Riverrun, will to appeal to him and the Lords of the Reach as a last source of support?

Culrikhan:
-Prestige: 9/10.
-Legitimacy: 8/10.

-The North has virtually fallen, save for some resistance on Skagos and the free Bear Island. You men now flood the north of the Riverlands following the fall of The Twins, and your commanders wonder just how South the Sidhe are to go, not to mention whether the large reserves of Winterfell with actually be used. How shall the Sidhe conquest follow?

Willas Tyrell:
-Prestige: 2/10.
-Gold: 1.900.000 GD.
-Legitimacy: 6/10.

-The apparently senseless slaughter of Edmure Tully and his family has shocked and even enraged the entire region, seeing this breaking of guest rights as worse than the infamous Red Wedding. "Red Willas" is a name often repeated across Highgarden, and Lord Redwyne has been the first to declare open rebellion to support Daenerys Targaryen. How shall you react to this revolt?

Jaime Lannister:
-Prestige: 4/10.
-Gold: 1.950.000 GD.
-Legitimacy: 5/10.

-On the good side of news, the Tyrell invasion of the Westerlands is finally over and the Ironborn have abandoned the occupied lands. On the bad side, your brother and the leader of House Lannister lies dead at the hands of Vale assassins. This opens a rather large problem from the Western lords, as they want to know who is to inherit Casterly Rock now that the Kingsguard doesn't exist. Should Tommen be named Lord? Or should you take the title as the last living son of Tywin Lannister?

-While misgvings exists, most of your Lords remain convinced of the need to maintain the alliance given the desperate situation and the Sidhe invasion of the Riverlands. And yet, your past brings trouble as the man who once put a sword through Aerys Targaryen. How will you reconcile this?

Andar Royce:
-Prestige: 3/10.
-Gold: 50.000 GD.
-Legitimacy: 6/10.

-Lord Coldwater and you finally reach the Eyrie, putting a siege to Lady Waynwood and Queen Shireen. Many questions remain as to how to proceed, and it's up to you to decide. Become the next Regent for Shireen? Join forces with Lord Velaryon and Queen Argella? Or... try with the unthinkable and join the Targaryens out of desperation?

Aurane Velaryon:
-Prestige: 10/10.
-Gold: 900.000 GD.
-Legitimacy: 7/10. (No changes because of the change of formal liege)

-You stand across the seas with Rickon Stark in your hands, and yet the situation remains complicated. On one hand, you firmly control Gulltown and Houses Redfort and Lynderly join the Corbray cause following the death of Robert Arryn as well as having potential Lord Harold Hardying as your "guest". On the other hand, hostile armies remain in place with Royce Coldwater and Andar Royce, not to mention the potential vengeance of Queen Daenerys and you repudiation from your wife, who has remained loyal to the Targaryens. Decisions, decisions...

Doran Martell:
-Prestige: 6/10.
-Gold: 300.000 GD.
-Legitimacy: 10/10.

-House Martell is back on top, as Storm's End is controlled by your troops and Dorne stands proud. The matter that brings trouble is, of course the Stormlands, which demand that Lord Baratheon and Lord Caffereen should be released (some arguing it could be a price to pay for retrating back to Dorne with no problems). And of course, there's the problem of Queen Shireen, an increasingly lost cause with no clear Regent...

Mid 302 AL: Aftermath:

The Sidhe Invasion:

The Riverlander Campaign: After the fall of the Twins it did not take long for the Riverlands to be set on fire and ice, as the Sidhe invasion armies would easily crush the Tyrell garrison at Riverrun and spread through the region, painfully taking castle by castle and killing refugees by the thousands as they scouts reached Lord Harroway's Town. Lord Brynden Tully kept putting on a brave resistance, abandoning a potential siege at Harrenhal to withdraw to the Crownlands, protecting as many refugees as he could despite the odds. With the forces at White Harbor crossing the North to enter the Riverlands as well, the wight hordes of the Sidhe just grew, and another region was close to falling on its entirety.

The Second War of Stags and Dragons:

Fall of the Roses: Realizing how fragile House Tyrell was after the monstrous massacre at Riverrun, Queen Daenerys sent Ser Barristan Selmy and his men to Highgarden, hoping for a quick campaign. To his merit Ser Barristan led a successful march, as Reach Lords and Knights joined his cause to denounce Willas. Military resistance was soon to come from the Tyrells, yet Highgarden descended into chaos as an ambush outside the city killed Lord Willas, Ser Garlan and Lady Olenna, crushing the soul of the southern House.

Attempts to raise a regency for little Mace Tyrell were attempted by Ser Garth Tyrell and the other branches of the family, yet the Redwyne rebellion had spread far enough for their authority to quickly erode. Desiring a swift end to the war, Horas Redwyne would end up declaring for the Targaryens as he believed the Stag cause to be hopeless, sending Ser Hobber Redwyne to handle the rebellion on the ground as revolts spread through the Reach fleet and armies. Little Mace Tyrell ruled for three weeks before falling from a balcony on the Tyrell palace at Highgarden, leaving a desperate Garth with an increasingly futile position as Lord after Lord swore loyalty to Horas as heir to House Tyrell and Daenerys as their final chance at stability.

It was a triumph for the Targaryens, only darkened when Ser Barristan Selmy met his end at the hands of a Dornish assassin before reaching Highgarden.

Reconquest of the Stormlands: Following his daring coup against Daenerys Targaryen, Prince Doran did everything possible to secure a return to Dorne, setting up traps in Storm's End as he took his main force in the most careful way to escape the area. Holding Edric Baratheon prisioner forced the Stormlords into not taking action to avoid endangering the Lord, and prompted by his father Quentyn Martell declared the independence of the Dornish from the slowly recovering Sunspear. Prepared as they were for most eventualities, Queen Daenerys dispensed of a large army to lead her growing dragons into a truly daring raid against the Martell escaping forces, taking advantage of surprise and the support of local Lords to use her firepower to devastating effect.

Despite significant Dornish efforts to kill the dragons Daenerys broke through their lines to attack the three separate parties, Drogon himself diving in for the kill as the members of House Martell were found. Despite their House surviving through the war with minor family casualties, the Dornishmen were crushed one by one, Prince Doran, Queen Dowager Arianne, Lord Trystane, Lord Yronwood and the surviving Sand Snakes all dying in dragonfire. Once the smoke clear from the countless raids the Dornish troops were scattered as they tried to return home, Daenerys and the local Stormlords freeing Lords Baratheon and Cafereen and rescuing the infant Visenya from the ruins of what used to be a prideful army.

The final stage of the campaign was settled at Storm's End as Daenerys attacked along with the combined forces of Lord Brune and the Stormlords, forcing the local commander to burn down the fortress in despair once the news of the previous battles were heard. Yet another key fortress was gone and lost, but the Stormlands pledged to the Targaryens once again knowing that another campaign would in all likelihood end up the ruin of the region.

Civil War on the Vale, Part II:

Facing sheer chaos both Lord Royce and Lord Velaryon hoped to do their best to end the war quickly, offering pardons to a stubborn Lady Waynwood who refused to surrender the Eyrie after she was almost killed by an assassin. Refused by the former Regent, both men made and suffered adjustments of their own: Outside the Eyrie Lord Royce proclaimed himself the true Lord of the Vale as he announced his switch towards Daenerys and House Targaryen, while at Gulltown Lord Velaryon forced his hostage Lord Arryn to claim the Vale for himself to legitimize his rule, finding trouble in a series of attacks on his entourage which killed Lord Manderly and Qyburn, just as Lord Lyn Corbray was shockingly executed after it was claimed he had tried to go "too far" with a young male squire.

As both Royce and Velaryon sniped themselves with propaganda and prepared a military campaign to solve the battle once and for all, the revelations to come would destroy the uneasy balance. Both men would unveil ravens across the vale implicating themselves to be negotiating with the so called "Night's King", the creature terrorizing all of Westeros. The King himself sent messages across the Vale, branding Royce as a traitor and forcing a sudden shift in power. Within days, a raven came from the Eyrie stating that Lord Royce had been impaled to death by his own men.

Lord Velaryon would barely enjoy his victory though, for the revelations shook the northerner reufgees into murderous rage. It did not took long for Lord Wylis Manderly, Lady Alys Karstark and large groups of survivors from the Sidhe to storm Velaryon's quarters, beating him as they threw him to the door and to the mercy of the people of Gulltown. The exact moment of death of Lord Velaryon is not known to historians, but by the time the people finished up tearing him apart limb by limb his body was almost impossible to recognize.

As the region fell into anarchy and Lord Harold Arryn did his best to retake control of Gulltown, the last of the strong Lords of the Vale would fall as well. With propaganda of Lady Waynwood's apparent role in the death of Lord Robert Arryn having spread to the Eyrie, her own men would push her out by the Moon Door, unaware of how much things had changed outside the Vale.

Time Skip: Towards the end of 302 AL:

Having vanquished the Martells Daenerys Targaryen found the Stormlords utterly sick of war, and unwilling to fight anymore as long as Edric Baratheon would be the one to rally them. With Storm’s End destroyed it fell to Evenfall Hall to host the “Baratheon” court for the moment, Cafereen reinstalled as Lord Protector. Plans for an eventual march into Dorne had to be scrapped due to the rapidly changing nature of events, leaving the Dornish survivors to return home and Prince Quentyn to mourn his family as he tried to secure independence. With Westerlands, Crownlands, Stormlands and Iron Islands firmly in support, it fell to the surviving Reach and Vale Lords to rearrange the pieces left to solve.

The first to go was the Reach, where the short lived Highgarden regency collapsed as Ser Garth found himself unable to rally military support for his cause. With the fleets deserting to join the Redwyne naval commanders, it didn’t took long for Ser Jorah Mormont and Ser Hobber Redwyne to meet outside of the heart of the Reach, preparing for a siege. Whatever messages were sent inside the city were unknown, but it didn’t take long for the garrison to decapitate Ser Garth and most of the Tyrell household and flung the heads outside. It would take weeks for the situation to stabilize as many Reach knights marched towards the Riverlands, but the ravens from the Lords made it clear to Daenerys that the Reach would stand besides her.

A bit more chaotic was the situation at the Vale, where due to their own mistakes Lady Waynwood, Lord Royce and Prince Aurane had been killed by their own men, leading to chaos. As the remaining members of Velaryon’s court scattered the first one to defect was the young Monterys Velaryon, rallying Dragonstone and Driftmark towards Daenerys to escape dragonfire. As some of the armies started to bicker and plunder, it fell to what was left of House Manderly to release Lords Arryn and Stark from custody, allowing Lord Harold to bring the neutral houses to his side as the last potential claimant to the Vale. It would take him weeks for the Lords and the armies to recognize he was their last chance, but Arryn would also pledge to Daenerys. As Shireen and Argella Baratheon were reunited many feared the potential for another civil war, leading Ser Davos Seaworth and a number of bitter knights to take the Princesses and what they could gather of Aurane’s treasury, sailing towards Braavos… and hopefully some freedom.

The more pressing dangers to Daenerys’s rule mostly eliminated, it feel to her uneasy coalition to attempt to fight the evergrowing invasion of the Riverlands, as the Sidhe had taken Riverrun and besieged most of the important castles. The recently married Lord Lannister (to Lady Lefford) was the first to march North with whatever he could gather to cross the Golden Tooth, as the Queen herself held parley with Ser Brynden Tully and the Riverlander refugees. Forced into tense negotiations due to the intervention of Lady Stark, an arrangement was nonetheless sealed, leaving the Blackfish to hold the Northern crownlands and wait for reinforcements as a pincer strategy was attempted.

What came to be known as the War for the Riverlands would be an affair marked by timing, as the Sidhe attempted to force the garrisons out before the Westerosi could unite their respective armies. The initial phase was thus comprised of small skirmishes, Daenerys and her dragons flaming scattered groups of wights as Lord Lannister set up his troops to face one of the opposing armies at Winterfell. Coordination between the Queen and the Kingslayer (leaving many to jape on how desperate the situation had become) would be very uneasy, but it would lead to victory in Riverrun. Some optimism set in as groups of Reachmen, Stormlanders, Crackclaw men and the Riverlanders counterattacked on their own, forcing the Sidhe commanders to halt most of the sieges and focus their forces at the now frozen Trident, challenged by Brynden Tully’s vanguard.

What would be known as the Second Battle of the Trident would be fought as the various wings of the Westerosi armies arrived to support the Blackfish’s offensive, leading to a week-long engagement. From Lannister knights to the remaining Unsullied squadrons, to Riverlander peasants and bandits to Harold Arryn’s last desperate cavalry charge, the houses of Westeros would live to fight another day, leaving the crushed remnants of the invaders to scatter. Due to the sheer loss of life involving the battle and the entire campaign it would take weeks for Daenerys and her lords (all having pledged some degree of loyalty) to clean up resistance across the region as Lady Sansa would rally the surviving Riverlanders with a never forgotten sight: that of two scarred giants (one female, the other a former Kingsguard) and a direwolf marching beside her as she visited the surviving garrisons.

As the remaining Sidhe armies holed up in their massive defensive positions at Winterfell, it fell to the Ironborn and some Reach naval squadrons to prepare a second offensive phase, retaking the coastal sides of the Riverlands and North and forcing a  capture of the Twins, leaving the stage set for an attack. To the despair of the Westerosi the losses sustained at the Trident and in the Riverlands meant marching North would be impossible, leaving Queen Daenerys to fly towards Winterfell in a desperate gamble. Of course, what she did not know was that others were reaching the fortress as well…

Another battle for Winterfell was on the making.
