If you believe you should keep more of your hard earned Atlasian Dollars
If you believe the government is overly in bed with big labor unions
If you believe a voice is a voice no matter how small
If you believe the regions should have greater influence on the wedge social issues
If you believe in Atlasian greatness at home and abroad

Then The Coolidge Society is for you. A place for conservative and libertarian Atlasians to come together to bring about the changes we desire for Atlasia. While we respect the Federalist Main Street folks we believe a conservatarian agenda is one for serious consideration

The purpose is to bring conservatives, conservatarians, and libertarian Federalists together to discuss ways of improving the conservative/small government movement in Atlasia.

I really wish people would be focused on effective government, not "big" for the sake of it, or "small" for the sake of it.

Exactly! Efficient government, not "small" government.

We are for an efficient government. Yet we hold to the maxim attributed to President Thomas Jefferson
"That government is best which governs least."

Ah, the libertarian soapbox.

When will someone show you guys the light and convert you to statism?

Are you suggesting JCL is not a statist?

I'm a minarchist.

Why would that matter to me? My stances are antithetical to libertarianism. I believe in government intervention in the economy and labor unions as well as regulating social issues. Also, why are you a SoCon libertarian? Isn't being socially liberal a big part of being a libertarian?

Just because I'm pro-life and am for marriage as Holy Writ defines it doesn't mean I can't have socially liberal views.

While I am not sure about all the finer points, I am pro-life, I do agree regions should be more involved in social issues, would like to see taxes as low as practical.

I also said that I envisioned some overlap between the two groups (kind of like those who held membership in the Mainstreat Caucus and the RSC in the Republican Conference) and I planned to be one of those who did so.

So...

X NC Yankee

I anticipate overlap. It's encouraged to combine a coherent gameplan.

Eh, I'm not pro-life, but I largely agree with the rest of the platform, so:

x Goldwater

I respect our difference of opinion on this subject.  Needless to say I welcome both you and Thomas from NJ to the caucus.

A friendly reminder from the Society

If you're a resident of the Mideast region and haven't voted yet, get out and vote (myself included). We are endorsing Spiral, BMotley, Shua and JCL. These candidates have a small government rep and know how to get things done.

Just because I'm pro-life and am for marriage as Holy Writ defines it doesn't mean I can't have socially liberal views.

And excluding marriage equality and reproductive rights... what other socially liberal views do you hold?

First and foremost as a Federalist I believe that social issues should handled by the regions.  I'm center-left on racial issues and have supported any effort towards reasonable solutions addressing racial minorities. However I disagree with a state enforced methodology of racial equality. That liberal-libertarian  view of racial equality is rooted in my faith. Had I been alive in the 1960's I would've been a proud conservative Republican and stood with MLK.

Hello, I would like to join the Coolidge Society. I agree with your stances, and I think that Calvin Coolidge was definitely one of our better presidents.

You're always welcome here.

From the Coolidge Society offices

We are disappointed with the failure of the vote to expel Tallyrand from the party and will continue to fight to place real, principled conservatives and libertarians into office.

You might want to edit your post the way I did above, the links are destroying the thread because of their length.

Wish I knew how to do that. Is that somewhere in the function?

The Coolidge Society is still in business. RL has been cray cray as the founder has been getting married and now moving to North Carolina opening the southern branch in beautiful Myrtle Beach Souh Carolina. The national branch is still in Kokomo, Indiana.
