While I am not sure about all the finer points, I am pro-life, I do agree regions should be more involved in social issues, would like to see taxes as low as practical.

I also said that I envisioned some overlap between the two groups (kind of like those who held membership in the Mainstreat Caucus and the RSC in the Republican Conference) and I planned to be one of those who did so.

So...

X NC Yankee

I anticipate overlap. It's encouraged to combine a coherent gameplan.

Eh, I'm not pro-life, but I largely agree with the rest of the platform, so:

I respect our difference of opinion on this subject.  Needless to say I welcome both you and Thomas from NJ to the caucus.

A friendly reminder from the Society

If you're a resident of the Mideast region and haven't voted yet, get out and vote (myself included). We are endorsing Spiral, BMotley, Shua and JCL. These candidates have a small government rep and know how to get things done.

You are aware social conservatives are welcome in this group

Why would that matter to me? My stances are antithetical to libertarianism. I believe in government intervention in the economy and labor unions as well as regulating social issues. Also, why are you a SoCon libertarian? Isn't being socially liberal a big part of being a libertarian?

Just because I'm pro-life and am for marriage as Holy Writ defines it doesn't mean I can't have socially liberal views.

And excluding marriage equality and reproductive rights... what other socially liberal views do you hold?

First and foremost as a Federalist I believe that social issues should handled by the regions.  I'm center-left on racial issues and have supported any effort towards reasonable solutions addressing racial minorities. However I disagree with a state enforced methodology of racial equality. That liberal-libertarian  view of racial equality is rooted in my faith. Had I been alive in the 1960's I would've been a proud conservative Republican and stood with MLK.

Long time no see fellow conservatives, libertarians, and conservatarians. In the spirit of Federalist and Civil Renewal cooperation we shall be endorsing

We need alternatives to the TPP/Labor governing coalition.

I'll join this. Silent Cal is my favorite President since Lincoln, and it's a platform I can mostly get behind.

X Leinad

I'm against legal abortion, but am socially libertarian/liberal on most other issues: legalize any kind of marriage where there's consent involved (but don't restrict freedom of religion, speech, or association in the process), legalization and regulation of drugs, and basically any other "crime" without a victim. Not that I condone these things, I just don't condone government control over these things.

I'd say I'm on the libertarian side of even this group, which explicitly welcomes libertarians, but I think I still fit right in.

I wholeheartedly second the endorsement of the DKrol/Altsomn unity ticket.

Hello, I would like to join the Coolidge Society. I agree with your stances, and I think that Calvin Coolidge was definitely one of our better presidents.

From the Coolidge Society offices

We are disappointed with the failure of the vote to expel Tallyrand from the party and will continue to fight to place real, principled conservatives and libertarians into office.

Wish I knew how to do that. Is that somewhere in the function?
