Bold = spent real time in
Regular = just traveled through

NY- 7, 8, 9, 10
NJ- 1, 3, 4, 6, 8, 9, 10, 12
PA- 1, 2

Apparently going down to Philly on New Year's Day is becoming somewhat of a tradition.  One day, fourteen districts.  We'll see how long the next fourteen will take.

DC
Total: 1: 1 D Cheesy

U.S. totals:
2014: 55: 32 D, 23 R
2013: 41: 24 D, 17 R
2012: 52: 26 D, 26 R
2011: 82: 47 R, 34 D, 1 vacant
2010: 92: 61 D, 31 R
2009: 112: 61 D, 51 R
2008: 164: 90 D, 74 R

History: 2014-107; 2013-92; 2012-54; 2011-110; 2010-68

Thank to Nutmeg's links. Smiley But 2008 and 2009 go to pages that have been deleted. Sad

Cheesy. Let's see, is my 2008 still the record, followed by my 2009, your 2011, and your 2014? Torie has up there too at times, IIRC. Too bad the records are gone!

My 2008 was quite high, but not as high as yours. Unfortunately, I didn't save it. 164 was quite an achievement.

Yet to leave my house, which is OH-16.

Drove down to Strongsville for a winter hike with a few friends yesterday; Strongsville is in OH-16 as well, but we drove through the town of Berea along the way, which upon consulting Google Maps I realized is part of OH-9. So the total is:

2015: OH-9, OH-16

Image how many CD's I drove through to get from Laguna Niguel to the Silverlake district of LA. Smiley Did that a lot. Now the only other CD I regularly pick up is the Albany CD. Been too busy to get down to NYC.

I just got an idea. Figure out in how in say 12 hours, say 14 hours for stops (gotta check out the Williamsburg hood in Brooklyn in more detail, the most fascinating place demographically on earth), to maximize the  CD's Dan and I can get to from Hudson? It might be some trip that goes down into North Jersey after picking up the Westchester CD's, and then winds a bit through NYC to hit them all, maybe getting as far east as NY-1, maybe not, and then back up north, picking up all of the CD's in CT, and the Western Mass CD, before heading back over the line into NY-19. Or something like that. Yes, I know, just nutter. Tongue

Try this little trip on for size.

Take the Thruway south to the Suffern exit then after a brief stretch on 287 take NJ 17 to Paramus. That should take you just under 2 hours (NY 19, 18, 17, NJ 5).

From there go south on the Garden State to the NJ Turnpike (I-95) in Edison then go north on the Turnpike to I-278 and take the Goethals into Staten Island and the Verrazano into Brooklyn. That's a little over an hour (NJ 9, 11, 10, 7, 6, 10 again, 8, and NY 11).

Take the Belt Parkway east after entering Brooklyn Get off at Coney Island Ave, go north to Ave Y to Knapp then back to the Belt Parkway east. Stay on that as it becomes the Laurelton then Southern State Parkway out to NY 135 north through Bethpage. That's another hour or so (NY 9, 8, 5, 4, 2, 3).

From Bethpage continue north to the Long Island Expwy (I-495). Head west back to the city and go south of I-278 to get to Williamsburg. That should be less than an hour (NY 6, 14, 12, 7) making your total drive so far about 5 hours.

After playing in Williamsburg cross the Willamsburg Bridge into Manhattan and cross the island to the west side. Follow the Henry Hudson Pkwy up to I-95. Then take I-95 east to Rye NY. That's another hour or so depending on Manhattan traffic (NY 10, 13, 15, 14 again, 16).

Now go into CT on I-95. Go north on I-91 into MA and go west on the Mass Pike to return to Hudson. That swing is about 3 and half hours, but crosses through all five CT CDs plus MA-1.

That brings the total drive time to around 10 hours and you will have visited 31 CDs. Smiley
