I'd dispute the implication that the socialization one receives in a middle school or high school environment is always positive.

By the way, I wish that I had not watched the video. Grotesque. Every person caught laughing at that remark ought to go into monastic seclusion in the North Woods for a winter or two to reflect on the monsters which they have become.

Anyways, I agree that the Berkeley PD is soft, weak and allowed this to happen: they should have rounded up as many of these fascists thugs as possible at the first sign of violence. Of course, police officers anywhere and everyone are staffed with fascists and Republicans so this is probably asking too much, I realize that it's in their nature to bloody socialists and to coddle neo-Nazis so this policy is the best policy possible.

I voted for the top two.  The summer after I graduated from high school, I worked in a "Woodshop" which was actually a stake-manufacturing plant.  I used all manner of saws and woodlathes, dodged forklifts, and got many splinters in my fingers.  Later, in summers between university academic years, I worked for a cable TV company one summer that was putting in a new section in a new subdivision.  I did calculations to determine which amplifiers should be placed and where along the line.  I got to wear a hardhat and drive and use a bucket truck.  I think these two qualify me for the top two.  That was in the 1985-89 period.

Hamon voters needs to stop wasting their vote if we want to win this thing over the three undesirables. They are absolutely blowing this for us. How can they be so short-sighted.
Didn't you vote for Jill Stein?

Can you blame him when a fraud like Hillary was on the ticket for Dems? Never understood how someone so radically left with -8 odd Eco score can support a centrist like HRC, but anyways...

Let's look at the Hillary alternative candidates:

-Donald Trump
-The social darwinists of the Libertarian Party.
-Some crazy lady who paid a friendly visit to Putin and thinks wi-fi causes brain damage and her running mate who thinks Jews shot down MH17, that Bernie Sanders is a white supremacist, and that Assad's shame elections are paragons of democracy to be celebrated.
-A Mormon who is basically a normal Republican.
-A bunch of assorted fringe right crazies and various Trot or fringe left crazies.

Please tell me which of these was a better option than Hillary.

If Bercow retired, can we have him as a moderator on this forum? He'd be an excellent pick.

Most mainline Protestant churches are nothing more than social clubs where people throw around vaguely Christian language now and then to feel good about themselves and virtue signal. Some are even borderline agnostic are just places where normal people who are freaked out by hand waving and "fire and brimstone" preaching go to share their more private, reserved faiths in God and Jesus with each other ... they also occasionally use common sense to see some Biblical stories as allegory and don't care if the psychos down the street at the evangelical "church" think they're less Christian for this basic level of intelligence and non-cultish attitudes.

Always rich when these much newer evangelical religions trash Christian faiths that have been around for so much longer because they're not weird enough.

Blair and his ilk inflicted decades of damage on Labour. Corbyn hasn't had adequate time to rebuild, especially with ongoing corporate sabotage.

The scary thing is that people actually believe this.

The Labour party has moved on from Tony Blair, the country has moved on from Tony Blair. Get over f'cking Tony Blair, he isn't relevant any more.

The reason ex-Labour voters are now voting for the neoliberal, austerity, Brexit Tory party is not becuase of Tony Blair. It is because of Corbyn's ridiculous brand of dogmatic, anti-imperialist "leftism".

It is because Corbyn's utter incompetence and inability to lead his party.

It is because Corbyn has failed to sell any sort of message to the British people.

It is because Corbyn can't find anything to say about the issues that actually matter to people.

It is because he has at no point looked like a remotely credible leader.

But never mind, if he gets crushed, it will because of a man who stepped down 10 years ago; and we will see the Labour party dwindle into irrelevance, like the Liberals did in the 1930s.

With that, Corbyn will have single handedly destroyed any hope of a real left wing case ever being made and ever being given the chance to govern. Hisis incompetence is discrediting all left wing policies in the eyes of the British public; and making left wingers look incompetent, out of touch, irrelevant and clueless

Eh, shame on him. Both sides do that crap. Don't pretend that some Democrats don't have vile things to say to whites. He's foolish, but it is what it is. He's foolish.

This is so ing annoying, dude. You literally say this on every thread where a Republican is called out, but not on any one of English Pete's, Krazen's or any other R troll's threads.
He's a Republican playing "good cop" to pull tge Overton Window to be more Reublican. Just like this trigger tantrum here is design to do.
I'm a centrist, guys. I call both parties out. I have voted for both parties. What he, said was stupid, but a lot of Democrats have said similar things to whites. I will continue to call every party out.
There is no way he isn't a joke account at this point.
Never underestimate the stupidity of an Atlas poster.

Is there any way we can ban Americans from posting in this thread unless they pass an IQ test or something?

Can we please do something about this problem? The International Elections board is usually very good precisely because so few US posters lurk there, but the UK General Election thread is now attracting unwanted attention and it's unbearable to read.

Well, to be fair, a farce of an election probably deserves a farce of a thread

I think it's important to distinguish between "conservative" as in pro status quo or pro traditional order and "conservatism" the GOP ideology that began with Goldwater and Reagan. They are related but not synonymous terms.

The alt-right isn't a group, it's an ideology.

It's not even an ideology, it's a label for a broad classification of viewpoints centered primarily around the word cuck and editing airhorns into "fail" videos.

Perriello is inexperienced and Ossoff is a liar/bro type loser that faked having extensive national security experience. That ticket would never happen and if it did, they both would lose in a landslide.
We literally just elected somebody whose only experience in life involved conning ordinary people and grabbing random pussy.
You misspelled "ran a successful business empire"

Which, of course, is synonymous with "conning ordinary people".

Socialism is value-neutral and, in some cases, can even be used to advance conservative causes whereas the kind of politics espoused by SJWs seeks explicitly to erode tradition and undermine authority.

Authority has nothing to do with conservatism (indeed, it is usually an enemy of it) and tradition is good for conservatives only in the sense that it usually supports their endeavors; in cases where it does not (such as countries that have long-established strong welfare states, for instance) it is "value-neutral", as you say, or can sometimes even work against real conservatism.

Respect for lawful authority and deference to tradition are inseparable from even the loosest conception of conservatism; that they do not factor into your ideology of Manchester liberalism is neither here nor there.
