I didn't know that, interesting. Still, it's doubtful he'd have to pay for the security. Even if so, a BBJ (the private jet variant of the 737), from what I can find, costs around $10,000 per hour to charter. Meanwhile, the C-32, the 757 variant usually used for Air Force Two, costs nearly $45,000 to operate-- which is still a significant discount.

It's highly unlikely Biden would face any significant additional burden by running as an incumbent Vice President as opposed to benefiting from a de facto subsidy. The really interesting thing in that article is that Biden has suggested pushing back his timetable yet again, which, as you rightly mentioned, isn't very plausible:

The other interesting thing in the Bloomberg article is that Wolf was very clear that he is supporting Clinton. If Biden was sounding out a donor, he must have left disappointed.

As I said on IRC, the hard deadline for Biden to enter is the NH filing deadline on Nov. 20. But he probably needs to jump in before the first democratic debate if he really wants a good shot at winning this thing in the event of a scenario that doesn't involve Hillary dying/having some major health problem/being convicted of a crime.

Biden might not make any announcement about running before the end of the year:

There are ballot deadlines well before then. Arkansas (admittedly not the most important primary) seems to be the earliest; November 9th.

Biden so wants to be the back up QB and he is desperate for the coach (party elites) to call him in, but Hillary may be injured yet she doesn't seem ready to get off the field. So Biden will wait until she is carried off but that may never happen

Of the 25 potential Republican candidates I list as possibles for running for president, it looks like 4 are out.
1.Mike Pence, Indiana Governor, is pushing for the state to accept matching funds for Obamacare, not something somebody who wants to run for president as a Republican would do (unless they're John Kasich) Also, would be hurt by his bizarre attempt to set up a Pravda in his state.

2.Donald Trump, New York, Probably was never really serious.

3.Pete King, New York, U.S Representative, since announcing he was going to run over one year ago, he's done nothing in this direction since.

4.John Thune, South Dakota, U.S Senator, told Roll Call he plans to run for reelection to the senate.

This leaves
1.Mike Huckabee, Arkansas, former Governor
2.Carly Fiorina, formerly of California
3.Jeb Bush, Florida, former Governor
4.Rick Scott, Florida, Governor
5.Marco Rubio, Florida, U.S Senator
6.Rand Paul, Kentucky, U.S Senator
7.Bobby Jindal, Louisiana, Governor
8.Bob Erhlich, Maryland, former Governor
9.John Bolton, Maryland
10.Ben Carson, Maryland
11.Mitt Romney, Massachusetts, former Governor
12.Rick Snyder, Michigan, Governor
13.George Pataki, New York, former Governor
14.Chris Christie, New Jersey, former Governor
15.John Kasich, Ohio, Governor
16.Rick Santorum, Pennsylvania, former U.S Senator
17.Lindsey Graham, South Carolina, U.S Senator
18.Rick Perry, Texas, former Governor
19.Ted Cruz, Texas, U.S Senator
20.Jim Gilmore, Virginia, former Governor
21.Scott Walker, Wisconsin, Governor
Woah, this changed.

Well, most of the Super Tuesday (March 1) filing deadlines are in November and December.

If he doesn't file for these states, he has no chance anyway anymore ...

There's no friggin way Biden can win the nomination if he's still not in by Christmas.

Time magazine columnist Ian Bremmer claims that Michael Bloomberg is weighing an independent presidential run:

At this point, I'd vote for him. But if Bloomie is considering a run for president surely he could consider another run for mayor?

On the off chance that it's Trump v.s. Sanders, Bloomberg winning even 2 or 3 states could prevent an electoral majority and allow the House to decide. Given the options, they could very well go with Bloomberg instead.

Latest from Biden world is that he's "likely to reveal his plans in the second half of October":

Biden could enter before the debate, but likely won't participate:
