I m sorry but I cant support this bill as currently written. We have passed many bills improving worker's conditions, and a such additional tax risks to make many companies collapse,..

Two initial points:

Firstly there must be plenty of companies with more than 50 employees in more than 4 distinct areas.

Secondly would this not lead to rich areas with plenty of jobs getting lots of money, while poorer areas don't?

A major concern for me though is the effectiveness of accountants. I don't particularly like it but I can't see any way any company that might be effected doesn't simply hire someone to fiddle with the definition of profit.

Yea, the net profit line item is going to get rather small on the income statements were this to be passed.

I echo the comments made by Senators Yankee and bore... Firstly, it will be very easy for companies to play around with their exact definition and sum of "profit", and secondly, I fear this would have exactly the effects Senator bore described: areas with presence of big employers, that of now most usually are already better of, will receive better revenues; while areas without such presence will starve...

As I said, I'm not convinced of the goal of this bill, and thus will vote against it, unless I am persuaded by further arguments / amendments whatever.

I share the concerns put forward by the Senators, and I would veto this if passed.

This has enough votes to fail, senators have 24 hours to change their votes.
