I was thinking about doing that, but I think it doesn't really give a clear sense of:

1)which are the unincorporated areas
2)what, if any, geographical patterns there are

I just think the unincorporated areas can be a bit misleading in how they are reported if I were to color them in.

I just checked the Census Estimates for last year and Lancaster is plurality Hispanic with 21% of people below the poverty line. Palmdale is majority Hispanic with the same poverty rate.

I was under the mistaken impression that they were a conservative white exurb area or poor and conservative like Tulare County.
