It's interesting how the people here can be different from the rest of the people in their own state.  Some things you'd think about various states based on the people here:
1.  Pennsylvania has more political junkies than any other state.
2.  Minnesota Democrats are in the far lower left quadrant of the political spectrum and think strip clubs are great.
3.  People from Missouri think that the age of consent should be lowered.
4.  People from Iowa are fiercely partisan.
5.  Tennessee is full of moderates.
6.  North Carolina Republicans slept through the 1988 and 2004 general election campaigns.  They think Massachusetts is a great place.
7.  People from Wisconsin and Ohio are fiercely independent.
8.  People from Georgia and Michigan are fiercely libertarian.
9.  People from Connecticut are more conservative than people from North Carolina.
10.  People from the Hanging Chad state like George Wallace and Strom Thurmond.
11.  Texans are big fans of George W. Bush.  (Actually, this forum-centered stereotype is probably the closest to the truth.)
12.  Okies are liberal independents.
13.  Indiana Republicans are moderate and like Olympia Snowe.
14.  There are no political junkies in Maine, Delaware, Alabama, the Dakotas, Nebraska, or Montana.

These are pretty funny, although in a lot of cases there are other people from the states that don't fit the stereotypes.

NC is obviously WalterMitty here, but there's also nclib and Tredrick.

We have some partisans from WI and OH (Naso?).

We have some non-libertarians from MI (Nym90).

We have some liberals from CT (Shira).

We have some non-neoconfederates from FL.

We have some right-of-center folks from OK that don't post much.

We have several members who are from ME and SD. We have some people who fake-live in ME, DE, AL, ND, SD, NE, and MT, too. Smiley

It'd be neat to get at least one member who lives in each state.

People from Australia are gay.

People from Germany are straight.

People from china don't speak english very well.

People from mississippi come in two types:  Democrat foreign policy hawks and Antiwar Republicans.

People from Canada come in many different sizes and styles.

People from Minnesota don't understand why the average poster would find Bush "more respectful of women" than Clinton.

Democrats from Arkansas and South Carolina don't like abortion.

Republicans from California do.

Massachusetts Democrats are the most verbose people imaginable.

People who spend lots of time driving between Maryland and Florida become major history buffs.  And apparently aren't big fans of the First Republican.

People from Louisiana make themselves feel better by putting down Texas.

People from New Hampshire think Bush is very clever.

People from England know quite a bit about Appalachia.

People who like cats also like McDonalds.

number 7, Oregon also falls under

number 8, how I wish it really were true.  Other than Dibs, I dunno who would be libetarian?  David S and myself are probably some of the more outspoken Michiganders, but people I talk to in real life never come out and claim libertarianism.  They may say government is too big, or they have libertarian leanings, but nobody will fully claim it.  Many of the people I talk to seem like liberals, but that's mainly because I go to college.

Just a side factoid: in the 2000 election, Harry Browne's best state was Georgia, and the only state where he recieved more than 1% of the vote.

I also object, catmeat is far too rich to be enjoyed by those who eat McDonalds.  The only thing that comes close is the (ketchup) cat's blood that goes on burgers and fries.
