Jimmy Carter ... a good man but not suited for the Presidency.

Domestically he was weak on the economic recession and social issues, and he was weak on communism.  His pardon of Nixon had its good points and bad points.  Although he doesn't fare well in my view against other Republicans, I prefer him over any Democrat in the last forty years, and all but possibly Truman and Kennedy since 1900.  As LBJ once said, "He spent too much time playing football without a helmet."

Ford was the worst Republican since Harding.

Ford was such a nincompoop. LBJ once said "Ford can't chew gum and fart at the same time" and I think LBJ was right for once. WIN was a failure as well.

I thought you were an independent. Smiley

Anyway, I take it you're a big Carter fan?

Carter was honest.

So was George Wallace.

I kind of like both of them, actually.

According to Ford's secret service detail, he could fart while he was standing still, however.  They would claim that he would let one rip and then attempt to blame one of them by saying something like, "Did one of you guys do that?  Show a little class."

Nixon, Ford wasn't in office long enough to screw things up too bad.

Carter.

He was a disaster in foreign policy and national defense, not to mention inflation (double digit) and social policy (gun control).

I suppose it was Carter, though in a way Clinton was worse as he was not really a Democrat.
