Kentucky truly deserves all the poverty it has. I really hope the coal industry collapses soon and clean energy takes over.

Don't worry, the not-as-Invisible Obama is already working on that. That's part of the reason why KY was very unlikely to go into the D column to begin with. Obama's regulations are killing the KY/WV coal region.

Kentucky = Republican's traditional NJ.

Obama's regulations are killing the KY/WV coal region.

Obama's regulations are actually helping the KY/WV coal region.

It's McConnell who opposes the minimum wage and supports union-busting.

Helping the region how? If I were a miner, I wouldn't care two bits about clean air as I would my ability to feed my family.

Come on, dude. Obama's policies have worked so well and are so popular that Grimes has to support the coal industry by distancing herself from Obama? Put out commercials how she'd defend Kentucky against Obama's regulations? Dance around whether she even voted for Obama. Seriously?

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that the people of the region are not fans of coal plants getting shut down. You wouldn't be either if you were in the industry. It's interest group politics 101.

Obama hasn't shut down any coal plants.

Incidentally, the United Mine Workers has endorsed Grimes.

Plants taken off-line due to EPA Regulations: http://instituteforenergyresearch.org/topics/policy/power-plant-closures/

A union endorsing a Democrat? No way. As per usual, the union bosses are not necessarily in line with the rank-and-file.

You do know who the IFR is don't you?

Yes. Evil folks that are for stuff like using the bountiful fossil fuels we have within our borders. Anti-EPA.

Refute the facts and my underlying assertions as opposed to attacking the messenger because you don't like them.

My point is that KY is/was a pipe dream and a very difficult gain for the Democrats because of Obama's energy policy, which is NOT favorable to one of the state's main industries.

No president since LBJ has done as much to improve the lives of Kentuckians as Obama has. That's a fact. Too bad they're too racist and xenophobic to realize it.

Evidence of that "fact?" I'm pretty sure roughly 60% of the citizens in the state disagree.

That's the view if, a majority agree with a premise, it's correct, even if it's not objectively the case.

How is it objectively the case?

IIRC correctly, at least anecdotally, there was a nasty ice storm in the region shortly after Obama took office and the FEMA response was less than optimal.

What was it that Obama has done for KY that should make that 60% of ingrates grateful?
