Another Republican "gain" flushed down the toilet. Or should I say another race that a Republican was supposed to "win" by keeping their loss within single digits flushed down the toilet.

And the DSCC sent operatives from LA to OR before the summer; last I heard they were stationed their the rest of the cycle. What a waste for Democrats.

Where do you even come up with this stuff?

That's a pretty accurate description of the races in OR, MN, and MI (and NM, if anybody ever talked about that as a potential pickup, but I certainly can't recall anyone doing so).

Congrats, the potential max universe of Republican seats in a takeover scenario is 55 instead of 56, 57. Crisis averted. /sarcasm

No. Anything > 51 seats in Republican hands is a disaster for the Democrats this cycle.

I don't get the logic. It's not like the number we're talking about is 60 or 67 here. It's in the fringe of seats where the Republicans still have a majority, but not a filibuster-proof or veto-proof one. A disaster for a party going into an election with 55 seats.

Celebrate IA, AK -- something that matters. OR doesn't matter. It's a tier 3 state. Always fool's gold for Republicans. It hasn't been relevant for a while.

Celebrating winning Oregon is like celebrating a touchdown when you're losing 45-21. But whatever makes you feel good, I suppose.
