If Cory Gardner will win the Senate election in Colorado, can he have a presidential (or vicepresidential) future? VP choice? Presidential candidate? Presidential Nominee? If yes, when?

Gardner could be the vice presidential pick in 2016; or 2020 (even if he runs for re-election); he could deliver Colorado and Southwestern states to the GOP. As a presidential candidate; maybe in 2024 if he raises his profile.

Yes, he's présidentiable if he wants it.

2020 or 2024, yes, I think he would be extremely potent.

Absolutely.  If he maintains popularity, and wants it; then he will probably be President one day.

I just made my Senate rankings, and he is number 2. I'd love to see him team up with #3 Tim Scott. That could be an uber-exciting ticket in a 10-14 years. Hate to take 2 Senators, but I was quite disappointed in the quality of governors after ranking them. There better be some pretty darn inspiring ones elected in 2018 with all the term limits.

Paul and Christie top their respective lists at the moment, but 5 of my top 7 are not currently in a Statehouse or Senate seat (former gov's in Huntsman, Schweitzer, T-Paw, Huck and current congressman Ryan while Cantor and McDonnell were forced to be removed otherwise they would be too. Feingold just beyond that too), so maybe I shouldn't be so limiting in my choices for down the road positions.

I think both Hickenlooper and Gardner are on a VP shortlist.

No, he only won by 2.5 points because of terrible rural number for Udall. Gardner is just another white dude.

Well, it could go either way. If he lives up to expectations and he stay under the skin the way Bush was able to, he will probably either be able to keep that seat from us for years, if not decades to come and maybe be able to be VP in 2016 or 2020 or P in 2020 or 2024.

If he "fails", he will be the one "waiting for the next election".

Garnder would likely be considered in a veepstakes.

He's the party's best bet in a key swing state (the tipping point state of 2012.) With four years in the House and two in the Senate, he's qualified. He's young, so he can be part of an effort to rebrand the party. And he shouldn't upset conservatives.

A lot depends on how his first two years in the Senate go. He's more likely to be Veep if he's well-known than if he's an anonymous newcomer.

Maybe VP or he will run for Governor of Colorado in the near future. I don't see him being a future presidential candidate yet. He is pretty young at age 41.

I could see him running as governor in 2022 or something.

It's certainly possible.
