LePage (R)- 41%
Michaud (D)- 40%
Cutler (I)- 16%

I know its Rassy, but this confirms that he race has moved towards LePage.

Maine, why are you voting for Cutler so much?!?

It looked like Michaud was going to pull this out for quite a while, but now with my average for this race at only Michaud +0.06%, I'm really getting worried about Lepage actually winning.

We can only hope the anti-LePage vote consolidates before election day. In 2010, basically everyone thought LePage would win by double digits, until Mitchell supporters all jumped ship at the last second.

What is driving the LePage renaissance when he's been behind ever since Michaud entered the race?

Oh please. If Cutler was to the right and sapping votes from LePage, you'd be begging him to stay in even if he was at this percentage.

It's not just Eliot Cutler though. LePage has consistently gone up in the polls.

It's worth noting that while LePage used to be one of the most unpopular governors in the country, polling over the last couple of months has indicated that Maine is very divided on him now, usually getting approvals in the mid-40s. This might explain part of the rise in LePage's numbers, and it also could explain why he actually has been competitive in recent one-on-one matchups with Michaud instead of being obliterated. That's quite impressive given that this is, well, the bombastic governor we all know.

As I've believed for a while, LePage will pull through and continue to enrage Democrats for another four years. If the Cutler surge is real, then this would likely only help him as potential Cutler voters lean more to the left.

I'm thinking his dashing good looks and mad swagger are also in play here.
