While you are hardly unique in this regard, most people would probably have more respect for someone who, with a history of making predictions defying conventional wisdom that did not pan out, expressed greater epistemic uncertainty when making a similar prediction in the present, and did not make ad hominem attacks against those who subscribed to conventional wisdom. True, you too have been victim of ad hominem attacks, but those are in large part a (desired?) consequence of your conduct agitating for a dispute.

Shut up.

I'm really shocked that the people complaining about someone else taking things too seriously are taking things too seriously themselves! Shocked, I tell you!

Yeah, sometimes when one gets burned that bad, a coherent response is not readily available.

As I said in another thread, maybe the people that groan about how I have to "calm down" can possibly convince themselves that my tone in these posts aren't exactly as serious as you think...Maybe demonstrate some, hmmm, epistemic uncertainty of their own. Wink

When he gets called out for his childish ways, he claims to be 'joking'. He's clearly not ready for primetime.

I pray for you.
