Quinn(D) 44
Rauner (R) 40
Grimm (Lib) 6

In a contest that has yet to reach the floor in ugly, it looks like Bruce Rauner has taken some serious damage.

Wow. Quinn leads in a WAA poll.

Bruce Rauner would have been much better than Quinn, but I suppose the only thing Illinois cares about is the (D) next to the name.

Rauner's major - and perhaps fatal- failure is that when he was 13% or more ahead in the polls he didn't define himself to the public.  Now Pat Quinn has defined him, and not in a good light.
For Illinois voters it comes down to voting for the devil you know--Quinn with 6 years of not so great governing--or taking a chance with the devil you don't know-Rauner.
Once again the GOP appears to have made the same mistake of underestimating Quinn.  No matter how bad his poll ratings have tanked, underestimate him at your peril.
We'll see who drops the biggest nuke negative add in the coming month, because this is going nowhere but down.

No, they care about not electing a governor who is far to the right of the average Illinois voter.

Anyway, it's getting time to move this to Lean D. If even WAA can't find a lead for Rauner anymore, it's over.

2014 is another feather in Quinn's cap.

Onward to the White House!

Jeez, what an epic fail for Rauner. How bad has his campaign been?

WAA is terrible, but its indicative of the direction this race has gone. Wow. What an embarrassing campaign he's run. I'm starting to think running Brady again would've at least made this closer.

Remarkably good ground game, actually. Much better than Quinn's. His ads have fallen flat on their face, though, and Quinn's have killed it.

Problem with Rauner is that he's ideologically not aligned with Illinois. He seems to be running an honest and decent campaign but that's actually a negative.

Quinn decided to not wait until election day to take the lead this year.
In 2010, he was down 4.7 points in the RCP average at the end, and still won.
