Exactly. Someone who doesn't love avatars ought to delete his Atlas profile.

Turned them off many years ago, around the same time I abandoned signatures.

To a certain extent the national flags have replaced the avatars in my mind in their association with certain posters.

While I turned off signatures and never looked back, I wasn't able to do that with avatars. I'd probably like it better if I got used to it, but as it is I rely on the avatar way too much when reading a post

Same here. But due to the multiple use of one and the same avatar, I often get confused.
By way of example, it's hard for me to distinguish CathCon, Oldiesfreak, Kevin and "Queen Mum" from each other.

Sometimes I'm skimming through a thread I've already posted in and I'm like "wait why did I post twice in a row" or "wtf I don't remember saying that" before I realize I'm looking at a post by Adam Griffin or Clinton1996 or nolesfan or whoever
